@Josh (and Michael), Exactly!! Man, I was pacing after listening to that interview. Trying to decide to call in (no, he'd just ridicule any opposing view) or write a blog (but do I even spend energy on that?). What he did was deplorable... You both captured much of my thoughts and feelings. There is much that Beck has done and will do that I consider great (hell, WST Frederick was born on March 13th, 2009). This is one of those times that highlighted Beck's being 'human' - this was a giant misstep. He could simply dismiss this as a disagreement (albeit big) and then move on. But he takes it a step too far lumping everything together and ridiculing her and anyone that 'might' fit into the category. Then goes even further to prove his reason/point. I've seen/heard him do this before and can't stand it. Very disapointed...and the exact reason I always say, "Principles will stand the test of time, but people will always fail you." -Joshua

Once we explore their writings and speeches as well as the historical figures that they studied, we begin to develop an understanding and appreciation of what they believed at their core. One such example is that the government could not force an individual to provide for another individuals needs. Providing for another’s needs is an example of Unalienable Duties, however this is outside the realm of government intervention. An individual does not have the right to Healthcare at another individuals expense, period. An individual does have the right to not have a third party interfere with someone providing healthcare to the individual. One might ask how such statements can be made or that we already provide for the welfare of the downtrodden. They would probably be the first to call someone a monster who says that the government has no place doing such things. However, I would wager that those “monsters” on average provide more assistance to the downtrodden and hurting.

Contacting them is not going to solve anything. You must join or form a local group. Start writing letters to the editor of the local papers. Open dialogue with your friends and neighbors. Increase your knowledge of the constitution and relevant history. These are a few...this is not an easy, overnight fix. We are in a battle that has existed for about a century...the progressives are way ahead of us. Most importantly...stay focused and rely on the support of your group. Check out meetup.com - look for a group near you. We have a group in Frederick MD that is almost 170 members in about 4 months time. It's catching on but it will take time. -Joshua
