Every single book in the New Testament is Holy Spirit inspired and was written in the first century AD, shortly after Jesus' death and resurrection. When Revelation discusses the wound, it uses the perfect passive participle--sphazo, meaning "wounded" or "slain". This event happened before John's time. The Antichrist will be a dead king from our distant past who rises from Hell to become the Antichrist (Revelation 17:8-11). Let me also add that this is a mortal wound that the Antichrist survived in his previous incarnation. And actually there is no peace, not during the Tribulation and certainly not during the reign of the Antichrist. The Bible clearly predicts the demise of Rome at the hands of the Antichrist and his 10-king goon squad (Revelation 17:18). The entire city gets razed, never to be rebuilt. Doesn't make sense that they would blow up their own headquarters. It's true that the 10-kings come out of territories from within the former Roman Empire, 5 from the Eastern Division, 5 from the Western Division. They won't be strictly from the EU though as some of those territories will include the Middle East and Africa. This is what Daniel meant by "iron mixing with clay, but not cleaving" (Daniel 2:33-35, 40-44). The 10 kings will be a diverse collection of men from different backgrounds, customs, mentalities, and cultures, all brought together under the single goal of opposing Christ's reign. All those point to signs that occur BEFORE the Rapture and subsequent Tribulation. Another reference is Matthew 24:29,30, but beware: this verse is often mistranslated. The Greek eutheos meta actually means "immediately with" as opposed to "immediately after". The signs and the Rapture come IMMEDIATELY WITH the Tribulation, thus kicking it off. This includes all the recent volcanoes as well, for those are also a result of seismic activity. Other signs include famine, wars and rumors of wars, and nation rising against nation, and kingdom against kingdom (which basically means revolution). Jesus said the big clue will be when all these things happen SIMULTANEOUSLY. Famines, wars, and earthquakes have been around forever. However, what you should really be looking out for is the multinational chain reaction of unrest that started in Tunisia in December 2010, and spread into Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain, Morocco, Algeria, Oman, Sudan, Iran and Iraq. THAT event is unprecented and is unique to our generation. We're even seeing riots in Greece, Italy, Spain, and now Great Britain. Nothing like this has ever happened before. Also note that some of those places are kingdoms, just as predicted.
