Thanks for the encouragement Sean. I really do appreciate it. As far as helping, any feed back you could give on the Walking Out story would be greatly appreciated. In fact, critiques from professionals are always appreciated so if you know any more let them know about it too :o) In speaking of this I want to encourage you not to be shy or afraid of hurting my feelings. I realize am a beginner and your honesty is my greatest asset. Thank you. Hope you had a merry Christmas and will have a great new year.

Move on is right. If you think of your blog as a starter for your business then can you afford for someone to move on? I know I don't have the perfect blog, but I don't want to intentionally discourage folks from reading.

Progressivism in schools is designed to break the relationship between the parent and the child and replace it with the relationship between the child and the state. It's why they brought in kindergarten and then pre-K and then day care: They keep trying to insert the wedge earlier and earlier.

Big Hollywood : 'Narnia' Open Thread: What Did You Think of 'Dawn Treader'?

Took the wife and kids to see it today and all of us liked it. Not as good as Prince Caspian but to me that would be a hard movie to top. The wife and I give it a thumbs up. My two boys (five and eight) both give it two thumbs up with a grin. Though I did think the movie had more of a cohesive plot than the book which always seemed to be somewhat of a series of episodes united by a sea voyage than a novel. But then again, I'm not a Lewis scholar or anything like that so what do I know? What always tears me up about the films is when the children have to say goodbye to Narnia at the end. It's kind of like having to say goodbye to my childhood all over again.

Big Government : Tax Debates—A Distraction from the Truth

Sorry, I sometimes get the fair tax and the flat tax confused. I never read the fair tax book but remember when Boortz wrote it. I remember when he said that the fair tax would be revenue neutral and that's the problem with the fair tax: I don't want the money generated with the income tax replaced, I want it gone. (Great, now see what you've done? I'm evolving an actual opinion here.) Replacing the money with something else doesn't fix anything since the government hasn't shrunk. It just replaces the earners with the spenders and since the poor spend a greater share of what they earn they get taxed more. And yes, I do seem to recall something about a rebate system where the poor get their money back but that would seem to just shift the burden a little higher unless the rebate system were somehow progressive. Which is part of the problem with the income tax since it taxes the higher earners more than the lower earners thereby destroying the incentive to work harder. I understand that there is a legitimate need for taxes but not nearly as much as they're getting right now and until we address that nothing is going to be solved. Fair taxers and flat taxers as well as all of the other taxers out there are operating under the assumption that the government NEEDS the money. They don't. It is the money that is harmful and destructive to liberty. It is what allows the corruption in the first place.

Haditwigov, I really wish I knew. But since The Plumber is suggesting replacing the IRS why not just leave the office empty? If we could get the votes to replace then we'd seem to have the votes to remove. I'm not saying it wouldn't be an uphill battle. Sisyphean in nature really. I guess it would entail a complete takeover by the nose-picking-goober demographic... Which I say that as a card carrying member of said demographic.
