West Ham Till I Die : Latest Developments: Ben Haim Arrives & Goalkeeper Merry-Go-Round

Just to clarify - Parker IS NOT 5/6 to be a Spud - he is 5/6 to be a Spud IF we sell him and that's a very big if.................. My team for the start of the season at present would be; .............................Green............................... Faubert.....Upson...Da Costa......Illunga .............................Parker............................. ..................Benrami.......Hittz...................... Barrera..............................................LBM.... ..............................Cole................................. Subs; GK (whoever!) Ben Haim Daprela Noble Diamanti Dyer Piquionne That still leaves Tomkins, Collison, Benni and Junior to come into the team at any given point.

Parker IS NOT a spurs fan - not sure where that rumour comes from. He has never, to my knowledge, EVER expressed any comments of Tottscum loyalty.

For all your 'expertise' CH, sometimes you miss the simplest things. 35,000 paying on average £40 per ticket = £1.4m 50,000 paying on avergae £30 per ticket = £1.5m No real differecne you say......... So when you go to a game, you clearly don't; Buy a programme Buy any food or refreshment Visit the club shop Purchase something from the club shop SPEND ANY MONEY WHATSOEVER! It's not just the gate receipts that make the club money..........

West Ham Till I Die : One Swallow and the Making of Summer?

Any one else think that the squad is still a little unbalanced? Where's the new CH we need? Who's playing down the left wing? Who's covering for Greeno when he ineviatbly throws one in? I'm delighted that we could soon have 4 quality strikers at the club - Cole, Remy. Sulejmani and Benni (as well as Hines) but you can't win every game 5-4!

Chris - abandon ANY hopes of Euro football next year. That is not the target and beside we have far too much distance to make up with Villa, Everton and Fulham who i think will occupy the Euro League spots behind the top 6 of Citeh, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelski and Spuds. The target for this year just has to be a mid table finish - (10th would be great!)with a decent cup run. If we can achieve that then we can grow from there - look at what can be achieved at places like Stoke. No one wanted to go there 2 years ago and now they can attract quality players due to their top flight position and stability. We are and always will be a bigger club than Stoke but we NEED 2 years of solid league position to cement our reputation.

West Ham Till I Die : Morning Transfer Gossip

According to Newsnow, we've got more fingers in more transfer pies than i can keep up with. in no particular order; Loic Remy - new bid made and accepted. Nice want Liverpool to match or beat the offer otherwise he is on his way to the Boleyn. PLEASE GOD LET IT HAPPEN! Miralem Sulejmani - offer made for 1yr loan. Player wants to come but blocked by club mgmt. IF JOL MOVES TO FULHAM AND REMY FALLS THROUGH THIS COULD BE BACK ON? Francois Clerc - done deal by all accounts. Free transfer on a Bosman for the French international RB - YES!!!!!!!! Is this the end of Spector? Milton Caraglio - further reports that a £5m move has been agreed AND completed! Little known about him - either a very shrewd move or a complete mistake!? Tal Ben Haim - all gone quiet on the Isreali front - alleged inability to agree personal terms look like scuppering the deal. So - 2 more strikers due to join the club and a much needed RB - that would make 31 pros at the club with a squad size limited to 25 by PL rules - looks like 6 players at least would have to leave...........

Great post SJ - i think you are bang on the money! Get the deal done and we may have a half decent season to look forward to. If the deal does fall through then Eduardo is a defo NO NO - 27, never recovered from injury and even when fit, never completed a full season. I think Matt Derbyshire would be a better bet - he never got a fair look in at Blackburn, scored goals for fun when coming off the bench, is still young and could be available for as little as £4-5m.

Chris - Hines is a great prospect but no more than that. He could do a job for a middle to lower PL team but if we aspire to be more than this then we need to buy better players. Every one talks about how well hines did at the start of the season - indeed he was excellent against Liverpool BUT my abiding memory of that game is of Hines hitting the post when he SHOULD have scored.

West Ham Till I Die : Parish Notice: Reece Bateman

Another mystery solved, just Shergar, Lord Lucan and Area 51 to go......... Good luck CH (Reece Bateman doesn't sound particularly Celtic?!), i think you will need it! Remember that the key to being a good sub-editor is to post articles that invite reasoned responses and encourage respectful debate - now is not the time to abuse your position and launch into a tirade against the Porno Duo. This could be fun.........................

West Ham Till I Die : An Important Factor in Achieving Success will be?

I am pleased that Joe Cole has signed for Liverpool as like many, the thought of him in a lily white shirt is too awful to contemplate. That said, i will certainly NOT be phoning any of my Spud 'friends' to gloat - to gloat you have to be in a position of superiority and many of you appear to have forgotten that no matter how much we hate THEM, they have just had thier best finish in the top flight for 20+ yrs and will be playing 2 games of Champions League football next year before a season of Europa league football (!). We however had one of our worst seasons and have a squad riddled with mediocrity. I'll gloat when we are in a position to do so, i think we have more important things to focus on now........................

Wronger than a wrong thing, wearing the wrong clothes at the wrong time of day........ £12m for Remy is a good deal that we should bloody well hurry up and get sorted! £12m for a goal shy, under achieving, confidence dependent, injury prone Carlton Cole would be the sell of the century.

Giovinco is a super little talent (in the words of Ray Wilkins) but i fear that he may be too small and slight for the demands of Premier League football - the poor lad is only about 5ft 2!

Like many, I was very critical of D&D pre and post takeover. Some of the things done/said at the back end of last year were beyond the pail and i still have grave doubts about their ability to keep their collective traps shut. That said, the prospective signings we are being linked with and the money we could potentially spend have eased a number of my concerns. It would appear that at West Ham there will be no Brum-like policy of buying older players and cheap loan deals (i think you have to ignore the January window - it's a needs must time!). Instead we are linked with good, young talent (Neymar, Barrera, Remy) and quality, premier league experienced, sub 30 older players (Hitz). I still believe we have debt so many will be wondering where the cash is coming from. I believe it is coming direct from the pockets of the 2 Davids. For all our moaning and provaricating, we all overlooked one key thing - these 2 guys are PROPERLY MINTED! Sullivan has an estimated wealth of £500m and David Gold alone (not including brother Ralph) has an additional estimated wealth of £550m. We've always wanted billionaire owners without realising we already do! I think the 2 Davids are financing these purchases not out of astute business management but out of love for their boyhood club and a deep desire to improve and progress that club - that it is getting us much needed positive publicity that could help influence outside investment may also be an objective. These could be the most exciting times in the history of our club, i think it;s time to get behind the owners, manager and the team and see what the future brings.... COYI!!!!!!

Neymar would be guaranteend a work permit due to the size of the transfer fee. D&D are hopeful that Barrerawill be granted a permit based on the fact that he would have achieved the level of international apperaences required bar for his cruciate injury.

I love Scotty as much as the next person but if Villa wanted to offer us £15-20m for his services - I would very much consider BITING THIER HANDS OFF! Yes he is the heartbeat of the team. Yes he has been our best player for the last 2 seasons. Yes he is the natural captain out on the pitch. But..... Yes he is 30 this year (October). Yes his best years are probably now behind him. Yes he is at the peak of his sale on value. The only reason not to sell him is......... I can't think of anyone to buy with the money!!!!
