Big Hollywood : Michael Moore Trashed My Movie... My Response

Nice work Michael - these "truths" need to be refuted wherever we encounter them. http://retakeeducation.wordpress.com/2009/03/09/m...

Big Hollywood : Profiles in Courage: Major Kent Solheim

Great point dcase - in (particularly Vietnam) movies you're always seeing soldiers happy to be wounded and going home. Now you've got guys fighting to go back. Men like Major Solheim are proof that there are still heroes in this country. I can't wait to read more in this series so that I can share their example with my children someday.

Big Hollywood : Rebels with a Cause: Are Conservatives Cool Again?

ditto Gary - "He listens and understands hip-hop and uses apple products" Ha!!! I can only hope that I can someday be as cool as that. To not just listen to, but to understand hip-hop. That's true cool. And to do it all on an Ipod. What a hip cat.

Big Hollywood : Isn't It Bromantic...

Yeah - unfortunately, I our culture has progressed (regressed) to the point where being a man isn't necessary, or even preferable in terms of "success." In the short term you'll get much farther acting like, for lack of a more polite word, a douche. The long term ramifications of being untrustworthy, weak and unwilling to stand up for what is right have no impact on these people.

Glad there are at least a couple women out there who aren't into these "men." Thanks Cathy and Anne. But yeah, Justin, I hear you. I'm a few years removed from undergrad at Maryland, and the school was filled to the brim with these kinda dudes, and all the girls ate it up with a spoon. I suppose the only consolation is that they're gonna be pretty mad when they wake up one morning and discover that their "man" has used the last of their bronzer and gel.

Breitbart.com : Obama aims for sober honesty, optimism in address

Excellent question - this hasn't actually happened yet - the AP is such a joke. "Millions more anxious Americans were tuning in on TV. " Um, what if they don't? "He enters the chamber to lawmakers of both parties hanging into the aisle for a chance to shake his hand or exchange a word. The gallery is filled, including a special section hosted by first lady Michelle Obama in which guests are selected to serve as living symbols of the president's goals. Cramming the floor are the leaders of the federal government: Supreme Court justices, all but one Cabinet member—held away in case disaster strikes—and nearly every member of Congress." Huh? The speech hasn't occured yet! None of this has actually taken place! Why is the AP already reporting on it as if it already happened?!
