They need to flex their muscles and seem strong, otherwise they'll get eaten alive at home. Come on Glenn, you have to know what's going on in Russia. When oil prices were $140 a barrel they were flying high, but now they're hosed because the economy is collapsing and their only product is oil. They're re-arming to make the people think that the government is going to establish Russia to its once great status. They have outdated equipment and tactics, which they realized in the Georgian war, they're just trying to modernize, a lot like we did/tried to do after Afghanistan. Not a big deal. I will admit that we may end up losing worldwide influence if Russia can muscle in where we used to provide support, but overall our biggest threat isn't from without, it's from within.

Look you can't keep blaming everyone else. To some extent, the parents should do better parenting, but you have to accept that the kids are making a poor choice and they only have to make that poor choice once, while the parents have to win every battle, and that's never going to happen. Just because some celebrity pops out a kid doesn't mean that they're the root cause of all teen pregnancies. People are sinful and make choices based on that, even your precious children are little bundles of sin. I'm not saying that to be controversial, it's just a fact of life.

The problem with conservatives is that we are reacting too much to how our politicians are acting. Look, politicians need to be re-elected, they have to move with public sentiment. What we should be doing is making conservatism popular again. The way to do this is to make a hard push arguing that Obama has a fundamental problem with the way America was formed and the way it currently exists. We have to take the man at his word, he wishes to "remake America," which begs the question, why does it need to be remade? The obvious answer is that we aren't socialist, but he wishes to make us socialist. I think this is the reason that Beck is so popular. Even I think he's loony every once in a while but good God I agree with what he's saying. The involvement with ACORN is just another example of how America should be "remade." If, as we agree, America is good, then Obama is a force for evil.

I might have agreed with you, but not anymore. They've crammed down more crap sandwiches for us in the past 6 months than any one session of Congress has ever done. We'd need term limits of about 12 minutes to prevent them from doing real damage. We need to restart, or form a secession movement. The Constitution needs to be amended but we'll never get the votes for it.

This story is only outrageous if you believe that Obama means to do well. If Obama and his teleprompter wish to do evil, then this story is just yet another example of just how bad it will get if we don't figure out a way to stop him. You have to stop looking at these policies as logical, I don't understand, even with evil as the motive, what benefit Obama or the Administration could gain from 80% of the policies they're instituting, yet they do it anyway. So, we're looking at evil for evil's sake.

That's factually incorrect. They didn't "find a loophole," Chris Dodd (maker of all things horrible) made an amendment that excepted bonus payments. The reason is that his largest campaign contributor is AIG. You can rent these guys like an expensive storage unit apparently. Look none of this matters, stop looking to AIG when the real fault is the ruling government. These people are evil, and we need to be saying that.

The AIG bonuses must be paid. In accordance with the 9 principles listed on this site, the AIG employees have not broken a law, and therefore deserve no penalty. They have just as much right to their compensation as anyone commenting on this site. No company operates at a constant profit, but a company has a legal obligation to pay its employees regardless of the company's operating income. The employees of AIG have every right to work and earn their compensation. Most of the employees at AIG are working off of a salary plus commission. It is likely that the bonuses are the meat of their compensation, since AIG is an insurer, and insurance is a sales job. Look, let's be honest here. That's also one of the values as well. If you're honest, and you supported bailing AIG out, then how can you be angry with this compensation? If the bailout money wasn't given to AIG these people wouldn't be paid at all. If you opposed the bailout from the start, then you can't really expect anything good to come from AIG because there's no longer any risk that they will fail. If that's the case, stop complaining about this because there are bigger issues at hand. Basically, we all need to shut up about the AIG bonuses, they're immaterial. What we need to be pointing to is the fact that the idiots who wet themselves trying to get the bailouts passed have wasted about 100 times the amount of money at stake in the bonuses. I've said it elsewhere and I'll say it again, most of the men and women running our government are perpetrating enormous acts of evil and irresponsibility, and that should be the focus. If you continue to babble about the bailouts you are being hoodwinked by an idiot reading from a teleprompter. Don't fall for this bait n' switch.

The bonus payments should be given, the people who are calling for the AIG execs to die or give up their money are insane. The bonus payments were retention bonuses, which means that these people were fired but held over to complete their work. Do you want your company to abide by its contracts? Because I think you do, whether you fully understand or not. Let's take that a step further though, since most banks have received TARP money, do you want your contract with your bank to be annulled at the whim of the idiots running our country? What you are seeing is the breakdown of whatever vestiges we had left of a just government; I feel no obligation to abide by what they tell me, because they are using their power to target individual employees. When those in power choose to target an individual, that's one thing. It's quite another when it becomes acceptable in the eyes of the people to target individuals. I will not live in a mob state, and I will defend myself against those in a mob, because they have become like a pack of wild dogs. I suggest you do the same.

You see, I had believed the "fundamentals are sound" argument before we instituted the Great Leap Forward 2.0. I think the fundamental of the American economy was the American work ethic, but there's no guarantee that it's still there. Even if there are millions of people watching your show Glenn, the fact is that we need 50 million plus to make a difference, and I very much doubt the existence of 50 million plus hardworking, Godly people.

Conservatives do want to 'do unto others', we want everyone to have the best. My family has healthcare from my father's (former) job at a large bank. My father grew up in poverty and worked hard to provide for my family and for his efforts, and we've had an incredibly blessed life. I don't see the economy as a zero sum game, your success is not a threat to mine, and I want others to climb the same ladder that my father climbed for us. What advocates for socialized healthcare need to understand is that healthcare would be affordable in a free economic market. Remove the heavy taxation on employers and increase employment, remove the threat of corrupt trial lawyers and the health insurance industry would be able to lower their premiums, either of those solutions will greatly ease the burden of health insurance. They also need to understand that the pursuit of universal healthcare is evil; politicians with agendas are calling for government control because they have allowed trial lawyers and ambulance chasers to spike insurance premiums for their own political gain. In addition, they have placed costly regulations on the insurers and healthcare providers alike, which are passed on to the consumer. All the while these politicians have been the problem and have been slowly killing the very victims they claim to help. Now they ask us to give up our right to life by placing our healthcare into their hands. I would ask how universal healthcare, seen in this light, would be 'doing unto others'. I am tired of hearing that there need to be bipartisan solutions when the majority of politicians in DC are evil, I do not believe that there is room to negotiate, they must be destroyed, politically if possible. What fellowship has light with the darkness?
