We are still a sovereign country, and if international law prevents us exiting a grouping without remaining subject to the group, then yes, I feel strongly that we should break free regardless of legal technicalities.
International law is far from perfect, as is the legal system. This is one area where it shouldn’t reign supreme.

I suspect that trust (or lack of it) may be a much bigger factor than identity politics at the moment.

Yep, conservativehome members are typically loyal (so far) members of the Conservative party like Me, who are sick of the destruction of the party by May and her close supporters, eg Rudd, Lidington, Hammond .

Q1:I hope the rules can and will be changed very swiftly indeed. Every week she's leader does further damage. MPS need to wake up and smell the coffee!

Q2: I’m normally an activist, but inactive at the moment because of the way Brexit has been (and is being) mishandled. The party gave the electorate a referendum. In my view her 'deal' betrays the people's vote, so I’ll only support the party in the euro election if she’s replaced first.

Q3: yes, the number of candidates that the members can vote on should be increased. If members think they’ve been stitched up, the damage to the party will be even greater.

I’m still a party member at this moment, and support my own MP and local council candidates, who I’ll support in early May, but I feel that not only Mrs May and her government let me down, but the Conservative party has done as well. If they haven’t got rid of her by the time of the Euro elections, I’ll probably be with another party, and I suspect many others feel the same.

I'm afraid writing "...period" after a comment doesn't clinch an argument, however much you would like it to.
Yes, there may be other hurdles and obstacles, but I'd never vote for this awful deal. I agree with the DUP and extension is better than the WA. At least we live to fight another day.

The process of Brexit has greatly shaken my confidence in both the Conservative party and parliamentary process. If I were an MP I'd still not vote for this bad 'deal'.

May hasn’t achieved a bespoke deal until such a time that it should be passed by parliament.

And this 'deal', which even without the backstop doesn’t fulfil the referendum result ( however much the government asserts it does) would be a humiliation to our parliament and people if it were ever to be agreed.

A very good summary of what's unfortunately necessary now.
Seeking after Canada plusplus might seem to be the best solution given trust in the EU negotiators. But I have to conclude that in trying to achieve that we would be led on another wild goose chase taking up the transition period to no avail with ongoing uncertainty until negotiations were concluded.
