Independence Home : The BBC predictably get it wrong.

Just watched the 1.30 BBC News channel reporting the result. Headline shows 4 parties with the number of votes per party. Con, Lab, LibDe, & GREEN!!! No UKIP. Anyone looking at that would think UKIP came behind the Greens and they got 4th place. This really cannot go on, surely the party can take some sort of legal action?

Independence Home : More police common thuggery

Others on here can say what they like. I can disagree and I will. But your post here was meant to provoke people into making a statement, and it has. The way you have gone about it is wrong as a party officer. That is my opinion. If you put yourself forward to be offically involved in this party then you should be careful in what you say as your words can be taken as party line. You are not just a normal party member. You are Vice Chairman of YI. With that goes some responsibility I would suggest. End of lecture!

Independence Home : More police common thuggery

This person had just assualted a police officer and (from my understanding) was being arrested for GBH on a police office, which is a serious offence. The police officer was taken to hospital. This pig, and yes I'll refer to people like this as pigs until they start behaving responsibily and earning my respect, and stop being thugs, deserved to be restrained in a forceful way. Anyone who thinks it is OK to assault a police officer deserves a rough arrest, particularly, as this pig did, if they still want to put up a fight. There are always two sides to any story lets not forget.

Independence Home : Three cheers for the Mayor of Doncaster

I take back my initial "Brilliant" comment, as when I made that, this post read differently. I made that comment based on the anti EU platform of the EDP. I think that to cut funding to Gay Pride is ONLY acceptable if funding for any other celebration is also cut. Why single out gay people? If he stops all tax payer funding for all celebrations including St Georges Day then fine. If not, then it is not fine.

Independence Home : Rachael Barker, IndHome's latest author discusses how she's raising money for Breast Cancer Research

Good luck Rachael. I am presently in remission from colon cancer. Been clear now for 18 months :-) I was diagnosed whilst living overseas, and treated there as well. I returned home when my chemo finished. Whatever people say about the NHS, it really feels warm and safe being back in the NHS. My monitoring and follow ups are great, which was lacking in the country I lived in, hence my return home. I have never used any of the outside charities so can'r speak up personally for any of them, but I am sure they do a fantastic job.

Independence Home : A Londoner is stopped and searched every 3 minutes

I said these powers should be monitored and must be used with-in the law. I would be happy and in no way offended if a police officer stop me and asked me some questions, and then searched me, if he/she had a legal reason to do so. Why would I object to this if I had nothing to hide? As long as the reason to be stopped and then searched is reasonable and explained to me in a polite and courtious way by the officer then that is good enough for me. People shouldn't be stopped at a whim, I agree, and they are not allowed to be any way. When you are stopped you are given a stop and search form which explains the reasons. If you are unhappy at these reasons then you can put in an official complaint.

Stop and search has its place in a law abiding society. It is an invaluable tool in stopping crime. It needs to be monitored properly so that no abuses take place, and has to be done with-in the law. But, anyone who has nothing to hide, has nothing to fear from this police power.

Independence Home : Police Escort Service; Courtesy of your taxes

Actually I lived in Thailand for 5 years until returning back to the UK July last year. Out there the same system works. You can hire the police to escort your car or bus/coach from one point to the next. Means running red lights etc. Great fun.

Independence Home : Stuart Wheeler's strong words in The Spectator.

I spoke out against Mr Wheeler at a public meeting in Chatham 2 weeks ago. He was sharing the platform with Steve Harris number 3 on the list in the SE. He was agin telling people to vote UKIP at the Euro's and Conservative in the locals and nationals. I politely thanked him for his donation and then told him that he was wrong to vote Tory other than the Euro elections, and that I would be, and telling otheres to vote UKIP and the local and national elections. I am sorry, but I think it is plain wrong to allow someone on the top table to tell people not to vote UKIP other than at the Euro's.
