He has expert observers on-site and excellent advisors on the scientific and legal complexities of the issues involved. His own intellect has served him well, and will continue to serve him. Best of all, unlike his predecessor's behavior when confronted with a difficult problem, the president recognizes that there IS no "quick fix" for this situation. He is not making statements like "You're doing a heckuva job, Brownie!," nor is he planning a war against BP. Rather, he is investigating the problem carefully, while keeping all potential solutions on the table. Like it or not, this problem will NOT be solved quickly nor simply.
