My first run through I landed on "the Undiscovered Country". Why do I have to say "no" to Klingons to get to the better movie?

/Film : Angels & Demons - What Did You Think?

It was a lot of fun I thought. About 1/3rd into it it seems to devolve into more of an action movie ditching clever clues for gun fights and running around Rome, but overall it was still a blast. I think Hanks is great as Langdon. He feels like a real world Indiana Jones without the fashion sense or theme song. I would love to see this become at least a trilogy if not a full blown franchise for him. Tell Dan Brown to get cracking on 8 more books. Ewan MacGregor is fantastic. It takes a unique skill set to play a believable man of faith. Confidence in your beliefs without being condescending or self righteous. He's got this scene with Hanks where he asks him if he believes in God and he played it perfectly. He was assured and powerful without being threatening. He was a welcoming presence which was hugely important for the character.

He's lost his touch. :P It's not a terrible remix but they should definitely had this over to a band that's used to doing this kind of heavy lifting.

There are some gorgeous shots in that trailer. Is it wrong that I'm curious to see what Marshall could do with a non-musical script? He's clearly got some good sensibilities and is one of the only directors working today translating part of what makes theater so great to the big screen... why not have him tackle something that relies on just his and his actor's abilities instead of using knock out songs as a safety net.

/Film : Lost Season 5 Finale - What Did You Think?

I thought this season was a mess but the finale is one of the best that the show has ever produced. Not as many solid answers as I would have liked but enough half answers for us to play guessing games for the next 8 months. :) I think the key to this episode was the casting of (SPOILERS) Jacob. He brought a great sense of calm, power and mystery to the role without being threatening. Despite the fact that everyone he knows seems to want to kill him, he's seems like a pretty solid dude. while it looks like he might be dead I think it's hugely important that we're on his side when going into season 6.

/Film : Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds Prequel?

I love how passionate Tarantino is about storytelling and filmmaking but wish he'd stop teasing potential movies like this or The Vega Brothers with it being nothing more than a spark in the back of his head. He gets people's hopes up and then doesn't follow through. Wait until the movie kicks ass and then get our hopes up.

I'm not convinced he's making a movie at all. He's just making behind the scenes footage about someone making a movie. So meta... Genius.

I'm a little worried about how generic it looks. The last thing the world needs is another Scorpion King (direct to DVD or not). I seriously hope that they can manage to add their own spin to things in at least the action sequences.

Wow, NBC really came down on Youtube fast. I caught this live last night and thought it was one of the better parts of a pretty solid SNL. It must be hard to step into the shoes of iconic roles and I think these guys are handling remarkably well. Sense of humor is key.

Do you guys think that Trek could hold on next week against Angels and Demons? They're completely different audiences but will A&D be able to bring in all those Da Vinci Code fans and will Trek be able to take advantage of repeat viewings?
