I'm a proud member of 912 - Sarpy912 Group, Nebraska!! I'm just using "their" terms. Have also referred to myself as a mobster, right-winger, gun-toter, extremist, astroturfer......you get my drift. I will wear any of those terms brazenly on my sleeve. Went to my first rally on April 15 and have been involved since. I don't say much, but I read tons! As I stated earlier, "thanks for the great info, comrades!" Oh, and sorry, Norgue.....I mean Morgue!

I watched BO's town hall yesterday (guess I felt like ruining my day) and was amazed to learn that Drs. across this country are chopping off feet (oh, and ripping out tonsils) for financial gain. Hold your limbs and organs close folks - your doctor may need to make his mortage payment!____I truly can't believe this guy gets away with the stuff (i.e. lies) that he says. When off teleprompter, he shows his true colors and his arrogance.____PS- the Dems I've watched at town halls are equally arrogant!!

I just received a response from my senator (Mike Johanns-R-NE) stating the following: "As Congress considers major health care legislation, I will strongly oppose any proposals to creat a single-payer, government-run system. A closer look at the uninsured in America reveals that a one-size-fits-all solution will not work. Of the estimated 47 million uninsured in our country: 9.7M qualify for current government programs, but are not enrolled. 9M earn more than $75,000 a year. 6M are eligible for employer-sponsored insurance, but are not enrolled 5.2M are undocumented, non-citizens 5M are non-citizens who may not be eligible for government programs. 12M of the uninsured Americans truly do not have affordable insurance options." Please let others know that we are talking about 12 million people - NOT 47 million! PS: Sen. Johanns rocks - he IS working hard for sensible government. Ben Nelson-D-NE on the other hand, is not. He's on my list!

Man, do I agree - all I do is talk to whoever will listen. Got in an argument with a cousin - "I'm tired of your gloom and doom talk. There are checks and balances in our government to prevent what you're saying will happen. Get some faith!" My response: "I do have faith, I do have hope - I HAVE to. I hope and pray that more and more Americans will open their eyes and see that our rights and freedoms are being taken away from us-daily-and will begin to stand up for OUR country." I wish more would get as angry/frightened as those on this site (and others). I truly don't understand why many refuse to see what is happening, at record pace. Maybe, and probably, as Old Marine says: plain and simple fear.

OldMarine: You are absolutely correct that we need to quit complaining about our situation and start acting! I have always been very opinionated about my beliefs as an American, but since last fall and the election, I have started to act. I've written my representatives and actually received a call from Senator Mike Johanns (R-NEB) at my office in response to my letter. At the end of our conversation, his final words were, "do me a favor and please keep me informed." The phone call and those words give me hope that someone has heard me. I'm constantly talking with friends/acquaintences about writing and/or calling their reps, about coming to the 912 meetings in our area, about staying informed - I constantly e/m folks on my "True Americans" list about issues and when and how to reach our reps. This weekend, I'm helping distribute 912 flyers during our community parade and in August, I'm attending a "Fly Back" meeting with our reps that is sponsored through our Chamber of Commerce. I know I can do more.

I too, believe there is a glimmer.....there has to be. I'm trying hard to get my friends involved and stay informed - it's truly a daily ordeal. I started these conversations before the election - people didn't want to hear it or just sighed and said, "nothing we can do about it". I've been talking now for 9 months and the conversations are becoming more intense, but still feel that most don't want to get involved. I really don't know what it's going to take - an attack on Israel or the US? I'm afraid of what's coming and I'm afraid most of us are not prepared. Keep praying that more of us will fight for our God-given rights.

amstecher - I did exactly the same last evening - pray and hope that the Supreme Court would uphold the constitution ( I think that's what they are supposed to do?) and side with the bond holders. I truly believed that their decision was going to be the glimmer of hope needed to show that all is not lost. I, too, feel like I was punched in the gut, slapped in the face and took a boot to the head. What is now realized is that the highest court in our land is either frozen with fear of or being strong-armed by the current administration. Maybe both. Our laws are no longer binding and I now believe this ruling is just the beginning of many. As deflated and hopeless as I feel right now, I'm trying to muster the fortitude to keep fighting for my rights according to the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I know it takes its toll, but we can not give up the fight. Please, let's keep our voices heard.

Nightman - I couldn't agree more. I am sooooooooo tired of hearing about the "95% of us got a tax cut". I wish they would say "INCOME" tax because as we all are aware, every other tax known to man is going up. What about the income tax break on my future grandchildren? I very much doubt it. I have a feeling "they" are running out of spin. All they have left is name calling and the 95% thing - getting really old!

After attending my local TEA Party, I went home to watch coverage all night. Watching FOX was great and continued feeling the pride I'd felt earlier at the party (although Hannity was too anti-BO - thought it wasn't about that?), but flipped channels periodically and was shocked by MSM, especially MSNBC and Oberman's tirade - completely unprofessional. "Teabaggers"?! - really? Brought back memories of the playground in 6th grade! After my anger subsided, I actually found Mr. Oberman to be quite humorous as he appeared scared &*#@less. Anyone who resorts to namecalling has run out of options. They've ALL resorted to namecalling. "Stick and stones" anyone? My point is that we need to stay vigilant and involved. At the party, I added my email address to a list and next day, emailed the organizers asking them to keep me informed and that I'd be willing to help in any way possible. Everyone needs to stay involved or this movement will fizzle out. If we all just committed 1 hour a week for our country.......hmmmm, how may attended? Keep talking to the doubters around you!
