Also humorously awkward is his fumbled attempt to save face: "I mean for somebody else that would be a huge waste of time...so bold of you to choose that."

No need to apologize. I apologize if my response came off as snarky. His effects award was something I just overlooked/forgot, so thank you for the clarification. The Comedy Central roast thing was more meant to be a good natured joke.

Touche, Mr. Saget. Perhaps I should've been more specific or picked Hitchcock. By the way, I loved your Comedy Central roast.

That's the best comment I've could've read after writing this post. Awesome. Even if you hate it (again), I'm glad I could inspire you to give it another shot.

Film School Rejects : This Week In DVD: June 9th

107 years old...I love it. Though I thought Crossing Over was bad, I appreciated it for trying so hard to be good. The problem seemed to be that Kramer tried to do too much and the story was spread too thin as a result. I also really sort of enjoyed Ray Liotta and how often can you say that post-1990?

No doubt, Ross is no schlub. Big is another overlooked film in many regards and anybody with 4 Oscar nominations to his name is more than just a fluke. Dave is a solid film, but my lament is that film buffs praise the screenplays that break convention (Groundhog Day, Pulp Fiction, Memento), but then don't put their money where their mouths are. Memento, which deserves its own entry in this series, also was overlooked come awards time. Also, Danny Rubin wrote È già ieri...the Italian version of Groundhog Day. D'oh!

I completely agree. Never has Murray given a more complete performance (in my opinion) and I say this keeping in mind his indie films of late: Lost in Translation, Broken Flowers, Bill Murray Wandering Around Looking Vacant and Apathetic, etc.

Film School Rejects : TV Review: 30 Rock - Kidney Now!

So it would seem as though I'm in the minority with my view of both the season and its finale. I do hope, though, that I've not been cast as a cynic. I loved 30 Rock, I think it's the best show on television. Maybe it's because I love it that I judge it so harshly when it's not up to snuff of past phenomenal episodes like "Reunion," during which I wet at least three pairs of pants from laughing. It seems to me that after Fey's popularity rose with the Sarah Palin SNL impressions, the writers have struggled a bit to live up to their own popularity similar to what I feel happened with Season 4 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

If only Spaceman carried the whole episode. Unfortunately, he didn't. "I would be the one giving a kidney." "That's not what the form says."

I would mostly agree with you. It makes me wary of how good the season finale will be, which, as I said, is a concern because the last two season finales were really good.

Bethany, thanks for your comments. I'll be honest - I was a bit distracted and wasn't quite with it the night I wrote this review and I readily admit it's not one of the better ones I did. I appreciate your comment that they're normally spot on though. Thanks so much. I did enjoy the SPR reference from Kenneth but to be honest with you, I didn't pick up on the Mad Men reference since I've never watched that show. There were a lot of good jokes in this one (I especially enjoyed the little bit with Grizz and Dot Com) but the problem I often have is that there's so many little things in 30 Rock, that there are some things I have to leave out. Kenneth's quips are an example of this. Thanks for the comments though and keep reading.
