Breitbart.tv : Obama Does the Diwali Disco

You people need to give our President of the World a break!! Here is his new Asian Affairs spokesman (a very critical role in this trip) giving an in-depth analysis and homage to Diwali: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djNH7C8_DfI

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Fitzgerald: Fouad Ajami and his limits

I second the comments of Kepha and Nakal in their general sympathy for Ajami's quandary. As for why he hasn't come right out and denounce his faith, I'd say Hugh essentially answers his own question, with questions: "What keeps him from open apostasy? Is it physical fear? Fear of not being able to travel to the Middle East? Filial piety?" [and let's not add the almost certain medieval-style banning/shunning by one's entire family...How many of us wd be willing to accept that fate in return for baldly stating something we cd easily IMPLY without consequence?] People like Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, and Ibn Warraq are heroes, risking grisly death every day of their lives for making a moral choice. Fuad Ajami is not a hero. Can we really fault him for choosing not to require massive personal security every moment of the rest of his life? I can never blame someone for not being a hero, esp. when his non-heroic efforts nevertheless have been and continue to be so harmful and effective against our enemies in the real world.

Poor ol GWBush used to take a lot of heat for making semantic compromises, but at the end of the day every jihadi/"jihadi" with a gun or a bank account knew he was on W's deathlist, whether or not he had an alQaeda ID card... Those look like "the good old days" already.

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Nigeria: Gun battles follow death of "Education is Sin" leader

I am firmly on Cornelius's side, so long as we remain cognizant of tactical realities, and never allow tactical preferences to run counter to strategic imperatives. 2 examples: 1) It is very common to form a tactical alliance with a lesser enemy to destroy or resist a [perceived] greater enemy: Stalin in WWII, Red China in the latter Cold War, Saddam vs Iran in the I/I War, Syria vs Saddam in ODS...No strategist worth his salt rejects that approach. 2) In just crude terms, if those killing and being killed by jihadis are fellow members of the ummah, that makes things that much less dangerous for us kuffars. Victor Frankel taught that, even within a concentration camp, there are better moral choices to be made, so clearly we resisting the jihad can and must make similar choices.

I doubt that Ratzinger/Benedict was favorably impressed by the Sheikh's stunt, it being an act that is exactly consistent with the "inflammatory" critique expressed by the Pope in 2006. I take it as a favorable sign that such swine as Tamimi feel compelled to sabotage an event with the Pope, it indicates it was not a taqiyya-drenched photo-op. Ratzinger is a smart, cunning man, with good moral instincts. I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Iraq: Latest Sunni suicide bomber targeting Shias foiled

Some of them had the heroic intervenor blown up, but saving dozens more. At least one of them had the culprit being summarily beaten to death. :- )

Jihad Watch : Jihad Watch: Geert Wilders a fascist?

Perhaps an elderly warrior here can help to clarify things... It appears to me that Rusty, as good-hearted and sincere as he is, does not understand the historical context behind the modern European restrictions on "free speech." This context is extremely important to keep in mind. The Europeans have exactly the same understanding of free speech as we do, but real-world politics has forced them to adapt. Ahem: After World War II, the free Western Europe countries began to rebuild after the devastation. They had some very good people there, and most of the countries (incl. Germany) had significant experience w/democracy, BUT they also had millions of people who had been Nazi/Fascist officials, quislings, bureaucrats, collaborators, soldiers, militiamen, torturers, suppliers, etc. Got that? MILLIONS. What to do, what to do? The Allied [Western] big-shots consciously decided AGAINST the idea of "mass accountability," which at a bare minimum would have required millions of death sentences for murder, torture, crimes against humanity, etc. [just a few of the tippy-top people were hanged or shot] But this ensured that all these bad apples, most of whom were able-bodied and vigorous, were alive to make their ways within the New Europe. In order to ensure that these nasty Nazis never even dreamed of rearing their ugly heads to try to restore the Reich, the new democratic regimes put in place very specific restrictions against very specific activities that wd be logical first steps to reviving it. Thus it became a crime in these countries to utter such words as "Hitler was a great leader" We need another Hitler," "The Jews got what they deserved," etc. Of course enforcement was spotty, but actually the Europeans were quite rigid in censoring any printed material justifying the Nazis, and remain so. But after ~40 years, a strange coalition of leftists, Islamists, and crypto-Nazis banded together to "expand the notion of hate-speech," so that those very specific restrictions were ballooned OUT OF THEIR HISTORIC CONTEXT and applied to certain minorities as if Moslems, Turks, or Arabs had beenthe ones victimized by the Nazis in Europe. A more logical step wd have been to simply reduce/eliminate the old bans, since the passage of time had made those Nazi bad apples virtually irrelevant. Of course, European bureaucracies are even more notorious than our own for being against reducing restrictions. And, as Bat Ye'or has documented, those Eurocracies may well have been on the take, bribed by Arabian billionaires. Into this modern crazed context, Geert Wilders has simply stepped up and pointed out that those new expanded anti-hate-speech laws now make the Koran effectively a contraband document. As a lawmaker, shouldn't he be in favor of enforcing the law? Shouldn't we all? To call Geert Wilders a fascist is to defame him, pure and simple. He is targeted every day of his life, by REAL fascists, possessing guns, bombs, acids, knives, and their other favored tools of grisly mayhem. And eager to use them. Rusty, with an open heart, I beg of you to keep this history in mind, and be very, very careful and cautious before you apply the label "fascist," to Geert Wilders. Or anyone else. --An old soldier in this war, Jewish Odysseus

They want to escape their hellish homelands...But make their havens MORE LIKE those homelands. This must be stopped and reversed.

JOOOO-HATE CANARD ALERT!! JOOO-HATE CANARD ALERT! A few years ago an almost identical statement was attributed by the usual suspects to then-PM Ariel Sharon...Only the US Prez was Bush, not Obama. Nice feminist touch, how they are now putting the hughty words into a woman's mouth, "Tzipora Menache." She does not even exist [except in these phantom Joooo-hating net rumors], bet on it. Check google, you will easily find the quote attributed to Sharon, ~2003.
