The New Civil Rights Movement : Tennessee Red Lobster Waitress Gets Handwritten Tip: 'None, N*gger'

Why? Her beliefs are untrue, can you think of a good reason for someone to believe something so patently untrue? "God is [her] provider"... No, she is her own provider. Relying on a god to be a provider is a quick route to homelessness.

If "God is [her] provider", no wonder she gets shitty tips. Maybe she should consider providing for herself or relying on a being/entity that actually exists in objective reality.

I don't even think they care about the zygote, brainchild. After all, the so-called "pro-life" is really about misogyny and the oppression of women. That's what the church has been fighting for ever since women's rights became a talking point in our democracy and they have been looking for any way to trap women into having only one role: a stay-at-home mother, single or not.

TransGriot : Gender Identity Empowerment Coalition Questions

The thing that pisses me off about this is that it makes people who want to do genuine things to help our community have to work harder to get the help they need to get started. I'm in pre-med but I hope to go into medical school and then through residency to start opening up a surgery clinic that serves low-income transsexual people. It requires a lot of work that can be proven. EIN numbers, sponsourships from non-profit grant organizations, acquisition and construction of a Centre and of course, the opening day. When the local GLBT Centre was building it's new building (which is now open), they had photos on their website and the location of the building posted so you can drive by and see the work taking place. So, what I have to say is be a skeptic and demand proof. Surely there's plenty of ways to prove that they are real - if they really are.

When they are born - duh! I swear, the attempts to define personhood to mean something completely different have made our society worse for it. Corporations given personhood has severely hindered our economy and fetuses given personhood will impact a woman\\\'s right to choose whether or not she wants to carry a child.

Yeah, I\\\'m afraid that the change ticket was really voting for yet another spineless democrat. This is what\\\'s wrong with the two party system, the Democrats do nothing but you sure as hell don\\\'t want to vote for the Republicans because they\\\'ll just make things worse...

Angie the Anti-Theist : Courtship Promises pt. 1

Well of course faith-free marriages would stand the test of time! They involve two people who are making an agreement without the intoxication of faith. They are people who won't threaten to leave you if you believe something different than what they believe. They are people who know the definition of love, not some Christian newspeak. And THAT, my friend, is double plus good.

The Adventures of Jessica Sideways : Christianity Is Not Worth Saving

Emanuel,

I will tell you that I did not make a mistake, I am saying that as a whole, Christianity is a cult and Catholicism is not different from Christianity, but rather a subset of it and like quite a few subsets of Protestantism is a very profitable splinter from the general cult of Christianity.

Prayer to statues and saints has the same effect as praying to Jesus, Mohammad, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the Invisible Pink Unicorn, the Django Pony or a jar of mayonnaise. Furthermore, to think that any of these things can do anything for you without evidence is evidence of delusion or anthropomorphism (in the case of the statues and the jar of mayonnaise). If you want my opinion, praying to Jesus is just as rational as praying to Mary since neither existed.

Furthermore, I find the Christian view on forgiveness horrible. All you have to do is say you\\\'re sorry and believe in Jesus and you get to party with him in heaven. This allows the worst of crimes to be committed knowing that the person will be \\\"forgiven by God\\\" once they repent. I believe if there is to be any \\\"atonement\\\" for the wrongs that we do (as I refuse to call it sin because that just reeks of the cult-like mentality of Christianity), it is to be done to make amends to the person or people that you wronged.

I do have a lot of anger towards the Catholic church, much like with any other Christian church. That is because they get people to stop thinking for themselves and start believing whatever they are told to believe. This is not admirable, this is disgusting. What\\\'s worse, you pay a tithe to compensate the brainwashers and to create a fund to brainwash others. This is why Christians refuse to look at the evidence and see that it is EXCEEDINGLY unlikely that their faith has anything to do with reality.
