Sure it has something to do with the explosiveness and fast-twitch muscle fibers one needs to have to run the hurdles that transfers over to football as well. That and good balance/body control. Everybody always talks about how he's such a great raw athlete and how cerebral a player he is. Who's to say he couldn't pick up 5-7 carries a game if they were pretty straightforward plays? If nothing else, it'd keep a defense on its toes.
