True. However, the unions force teachers to join a union. I always wanted to be a teacher and wanted to teach history. Once I learned the unions force you to join, I decided to go into another field. No one should force you to join something you do not want to join. There should also be no tenure. If a teacher can not teach get them out of the classroom! The unions only protect bad teachers. If a teacher does not succumb to the union they are the first to get laid off. If teachers can not teach sure the unions thrives with its"dedication of its members", but it is the children who suffer.
