Hi everyone!

I have a 3GS (old bootrom) on 3.1. It has never been jailbroken, but I want to change that. How do I do that with Windows? I've read competing thoughts, but need clarification. I wanted to get it to 3.1.X in order to use jailbreakme.com and unlock it w/ultrasn0w that way I can save shsh for up to 5.1. Any and all advice welcome!

Hi,

How can I search for my old posts? I used the search bar at the top and it spits out 0 results every time. One of my posts Nov 3-11 had the solution to the same problem DHLizard and Slava helped me with. If no one knows how to do that, can someone help me reinstall a custome IPSW (5.0.1) from sn0wbreezev2.9.1 that preserved my 01.59.00 BB? I get error 2005 when TinyUmbrella is running and error 1600 when it is not running (Cydia hosts NOT ticked).

iTunes 10.6.0.40 currently used.

Any and all help welcome.

Thanks for the untethered update for iOS5.0.1!!! I need some help though...I have an iPhone 4/01.59.00 BB/4.3.3 and I'm trying to upgrade to the 5.0.1 with Sn0wbreeze 2.9.1 custom ipsw to preserve BB. After running iReb to put into DFU, iTunes (10.5.8) gives an error code 2005 or 1600. I have tried running Tinyumbrella (5.10.06) and the same thing happen...btw, my Tinyumbrella has "set hosts to cydia" & "request SHSH from Cydia" unchecked...

I have managed to start the install process where the sn0wflake appears and about 5-10% of the status bar gets filled before iTunes craps out.

***1717 GMT: error code 2005 w/Tinyumbrella (TU)
***1720 GMT: error code 1600 w/o Tinyumbrella
***1724 GMT: just tried reinstalling 4.3.3 w/o TU using 4.3.3 custom ipsw and got error code 21
***1729 GMT: tried TU on custom 4.3.3 and got error code 2005
***1755 GMT: tried iReb5 to close reboot loops but got error code 1600 after DFU install
***1758 GMT: tried again w/TU and error code 2005
***1812 GMT: switched out cables and re-ran all...no success
***1925 GMT: switched to a USB 1.0 port...I see the flake!
***1934 SUCCESS!!! Now running 5.0.1 :)

Any help?

Reinstalled fresh 3.3 w/Sn0wbreeze via iTunes and a preinstalled DEB for 1.2.1 Ultrasn0w and popped in 3rd SIM. Success!

It was already unchecked...I left it as is. I have since done simple-mode for bb preservation then jailbreakme 3.0 for iOS 4.3.3. I cannot for the life of me figure this out! My bb is still 1.59.00. Are there any known problems with the update to 1.2.4 from 1.2.3? That upgrade has really bitten me in the @$$. I hope you can offer some different advise on helping me fix this.

Please...and thank you!

Yes. The only 2 check boxes in general are gestures and animated logos. Everything else is unchecked.

Can I use RedSn0w to restore a custom ipsw from Sn0wbreeze (to keep my 1.59.00 baseband)?

i.e., use 0.9.6rc16 to (re)restore & (re)jailbreak 4.3.3? Reason being, I am having trouble with iTunes as well ultrasn0w and need to find a different way to get my unlock working again.

Hi Dev-Team,

I posted on the main board by accident, but meant to direct it to Ultrasn0w. I had upgraded Ultrasn0w on my 4.3.1 iPhone4 (1.59.00) to 1.2.4. After I did that, my unlock went away. I even had my carrier send a new SIM, but that did not help. I have since upgraded to 4.3.3 and preserved the 1.59.00 with Sn0wbreeze, but still, the unlock does not work. I've removed, reinstalled, and even installed...powered off, rebooted...then used the springboard option only to turn the "invalid SIM" to "No Service". I've toggled the Airplane Mode, but that only reverts it back to "Invalid SIM".

Please help.

Just got 4.3.3 on it and maintained BB 01.59.00, but after your advice, it still wouldn't keep the unlock after the manual power off and respringing it.

Any more advice?

I have preserved ipsw from sn0wbreeze (4.3.3), but I got errors. Now it's error 1604. Will try with TinyUmbrella running TSS

-UPDATE--
Just did it via iTunes and got error code (1) this time. Made it the farthest of all of them, but still failed and is stuck in DFU

--UPDATE--
Ran Sn0wbreeze again, manual DFU'd, ran iTunes, and am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I see the sn0wflake and it looks great.
