/Film : The Road Movie Trailer

Oh man this is almost as misleading as Sweeney Todd from a couple of years ago! And the trailer is just plain bad with the Wilhelm Scream going off near the end--COME ON! I was really excited for this, but now it just looks disappointing as if they have changed the movie from the original source material too much. It would have been better, even, if they had just skipped incorporating the mother (Charlize Theron) character. That's just me though...

/Film : The Top Ten Lines Never Said In a Star Trek Film

David Letterman seemed like a douche who couldn't even pronounce "Nimoy" the first couple of times he said it. If I didn't know better I would say that his stint as best talk-show host is up as he seemed disinterested, old, disrespectful, and totally fake. Not a huge fan. Conan's the best.

/Film : X-Men Origins: Wolverine What Did You Think?

I think that the script was the worst part about the movie; filled with inconsistencies in the series and especially the special effects where the claws were ALL mid-nineties looking and (SPOILER) Patrick Stewart's make up made him look asian and TERRIBLE. In the age of Benjamin Button, how could they have looked so bad? And how many times must Hugh Jackman yell at the sky with his claws up in the air? I like the movie---it needed more Gambit and I loved all of the cameos from a lot of my other favorite future X-men, but it made Wolverine out to be a little puss. The film makers may call it adding depth to the character, but the Wolverine in this movie was NOT the real Wolverine. I loved how he was developed in the first two films in the X-Men franchise, but he was a completely different character here. Three more things: the first half of the movie was disastrous, a lot of the dialogue was poorly done, and most of all the connection with Sabretooth doesn't match the one found in the first X-Men movie. Halfway through the movie I kept denying that this was the REAL Wolverine movie, but it's better than nothing. Through and through, however, it was still entertaining. I give it a soft 7.5/10.

I remembered you talking about this on your Summer preview video and it got me way excited! I'm so glad the trailer's up--it looks INCREDIBLE. Looks like it might be one of the best movies of the year--anything sci-fi/thriller-ish is right up my way.

/Film : Knowing - What Did You Think?

I think Alex Proyas is a genius--I've really enjoyed his last couple of pictures and this one isn't any different. Granted there were a few parts that were a bit uneven--especially the acting, but the great action sequences and concept religion vs. science coupled with the end-of-the-world story just made the movie for me. I also really liked the ending! This movie had the cojones to do a story that knew people would scrutinize it.
