Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 7/2 While Unemployment Skyrockets, Politicians Travel The Globe On Our Dime

Maybe they should spend less time and money learning about places outside of the United States and spend more time and money learning about the United States, its constitution, rights and what its citizens really want from them.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 7/2 More Details On Judge Sotomayor's Thinking

I am afraid to say this but there really is nothing we can do to prevent this woman from being appointed to the Supreme Court. It is just the way I feel now and with a 60th democratic senator now there is no stopping it. We can write our senators until our fingers fall off and call them untill the earpieces on our phones shine like agates but they will not stop and she will be elected. Sorry for sounding so negative on this issue, just trying to be realistic. What we really need to focus on in my opinion is term limits on the Supreme court. Although this might be just as unlikely it is a fight that can build momentum over time and gain the support of a majority of Americans.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 7/2 Iran's Election Is Still In Question - Watch This One

As it stands maybe 50% do. Until then we must look at Iran as we should look at any other nation and that is through the eyes of our best interests. We should stand for human rights when they are being crumpled up and thrown in the garbage but we should also remember that our other concern is a nuclear Iran and that all of its current candidates feel roughly the same as their faux president does.

Its hard for me to care much about the election in Iran being staged when all of the candidates were basically the same. I care very much about the people injured and even murdered just for protesting and speaking their minds and would stand against that kind of opression. The truth is that for Iranians to really have the freedom we enjoy here in America(the same freedom we are seeing slip through our fingers), they need to change their religious views. I dont believe anyone has the right to make them do this but I feel it is something they need to do themselves as their religious views and true freedom cannot coincide. America and Americans have mostly stood for, personal rights, and liberty but that I am afraid is where the line will be drawn with Iran until the Iranians as a whole or majority want the level of freedom we enjoy here.

What is really scary here is that Ron Paul suggested this over 20 years ago and only now do others in congress feel it is a wise thing to do. I just wonder if they have a better idea than they admit to of just how bad a position our country is in financially and want to look good when the truth inevitably comes out. Any entity that has so much control over American Citizens should be subject to review and full disclosure to American citizens.

JansKid, You are exactly right. Someone close to Obama really needs to tell him that while some legacies are good many are bad as well and that he should really look into the past and present to see what his legacy will be in the future if this passes. Most likely it will be the latter of the two. Then again that may not matter to him if he can single handedly pass legislation that taxes more snot out of Americans than any other president in history.

I wish someone on the news, in the Senate, or in the House would come out with some facts about how much we would save in Healthcare as a country if illegal immigration was addressed and eliminated. I have a feeling that if we did that on top of reducing frivulous lawsuits on doctors we would be looking at hundreds of billions of dollars of healthcare savings. If we want to actually fix healthcare correctly we need to stop putting the cart before the horse and actually break down the costs we unjustly endure first. Just that in itself might make healthcare affordable. Until we do that any plan that is put forward will include costs that we will unfairly pay.

I think what Obama wants to do here is create a division among Americans in yet another setting. The people that cannot afford the more expensive private healthcare will be forced into this public plan and the rich will still get the treatment they are used to. Obama himself would not admit to settling with a public option when it comes to the wellness of his own family. This will only create more disdain in the country between the classes, a.k.a. more fuel the far left have on hand to throw on the fire driving us apart as Americans. Wal-Mart standing up for mandated employer provided healthcare is only an attempt to capture what little marketshare remains from the "Mom and Pop" shops in this country as it would surely push them over the edge they are already teetering on. I just hope the people in this country as a whole have the foresight to see that what the government giveth the government can also taketh away. We can definitely do things to lower healthcare costs in our country but asking the government to do it is counterproductive. We need to spread the word in our own communities that a government run option has been tried and give examples of how it fails the people in all cases.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/28 Iran’s Daily "Threat To America"

While listening to christian talk radio the other day one guest was an Iran native. When asked by a caller if Iranians even want the freedom we enjoy here he explained that maybe 50% do and probably 50% dont. He explained for that to happen a majority of the country would have to turn their backs on the religion they were brought up with and that would be a real hard thing for them to do. I really could understand this point. Imagine being taught one thing one way your whole life and believing in it in a way most Americans wouldn't comprehend and then all of a sudden just deciding it was a bunch of bumpkiss. It would be hard to do.

What bothers me the most is that Obama wasn't really looking to do the right thing. He boasts both he and the American people stand for freedom and liberty and will not turn a blind eye to any injustice that infringes on these things. What he did though is he waited to see which side came out of this on top. Paying no attention to the fact that one side stood for violent, opressive militant rule and the other for unalienable right. It mattered not to Obama which side he was left to play politician with in the end, only that he made a good impression on whoever that was. In my view it doesn't matter if you make progress with a vilian. In the end he is still a villian and just as likely to stab you in the back. Making deals with villians isn't what this country is about and I am extremely disturbed that Obamas plan in this put no preferance on who we worked with in the end.

I find it disturbing that the tax cuts are supposed to be for households making 200,000 or less and the annual salary for a Senator is $175,000. Guess they just slipped in under that tax hike!!! Oh but I cant wait to see how they make this cap and trade policy bend so that they aren't affected by the cost increases that will come for the rest of us. Cap and Trade is only a ploy to get a little more from the rich and push the middle and poor class further into despair. I wonder if this is the same tactic they use with immigration to boost their votes?

be1776, I know you and I are shooting at the same goal here but let me clarify a misconception you have. Your electric bills get to $350 in the summer with the thermo set at 80. I live in Upper Michigan....the part most people think is Canada. My gas bill monthly tops $400 in the winter with my thermo set at 62. Add in my $120 electric and other utilities and I am paying more for monthly services than I am for rent. The cherry on top is that our winters go from September to May and the snow isn't really fully gone untill after the first or second week of May here. We like to say we have 9 mos. of winter and 3 months of bad sledding as a joke. So you are right in saying your bill doesn't compare with someone in Michigan. Ours is a lot too but just at a different time of year than yours.

My view is we first need to address immigration and stop the free flow of people illegally coming into this country before we can realistically pass any form of sustainable social program. Secondly, we need to change the current socail programs so that they wont bankrupt the country. Third, we need to become more strict on frivulous lawsuits that cost the private healthcare sector hundreds of billions every year. Finally and only with those steps first taken we can take a realistic approach to reducing the cost of healthcare.

Of the 46 million people uninsured 2/3rds already have access to insurance with existing programs. A large part of this group are labled as the "invincibles". They are age 24 to 31 and they feel like they have no need for insurance so choose not to get it from their employers. Another big group makes over $50,000 a year and could reasonably afford a good insurance plan. As proof I am self employed and dont make that much and I can afford it. Another group of the 46 million need only go to their local Health and Human Services office and sign a paper and they could receive Medicare (an existing program, not a sustainable one under its current conditions). One of the biggest groups of this 46 million is illegal immigrants who shouldn't really even be considered eligable unless they enter the country legally.

One good thing I heard was this. Obama stated if something isn't done about healthcare soon Medicare and Medicade will go bankrupt, so not doing anything isn't an option. Same thing he always says but he actually through in that Medicare and Medicade would go bankrupt. What common sense tells me is that maybe its Medicare and Medicade that need reform first and then we can look at reducing the cost of healthcare. Government has created a problem and instead of fixing the problem they created they want to change something that works pretty good right now to cover their problem up.

I watched this against my better judgement. One I didn't want to give the ratings to ABC and two I didn't want my blood pressure to spike by listening to the same pandering and many times same answers that Obama always gives. Nevertheless I tuned in more with an experimental state of mind than anything else. I just wanted to see if the coverage would be fair and non-biast....for once. I have to say that there were some good questions but not great questions. Not one put Obama on the spot to give any real facts so once again we are just left with theoretical ideas that may or may not work. I am also no expert but I got the feeling that Obama's version of what healthcare will be is a watered down version of what will actually tried to be passed through the house and senate.

Although I am not from the Govenors state I hear he did a really good job overall of representing his constituents. Unfortunately these actions do speak volumes of his character and wether he is trustworthy or not. I am just being honest here by saying I really had good vibes about this guy before this happened and now I am not really sure he can be trusted like a public servant should be. I realize people make mistakes in their lives and I am the first to forgive those mistakes as I would hope others would do for the mistakes I make. So person to person I only wish the best for the Govenor and hope he and his family can find a way to make it through this. As for him staying in politics I believe he has much more important things to focus on rather than mass public interest, but then again that is completely up to him and I'm just putting my two cents out there.
