Big Hollywood : Painfully Awkward Video: Watch Chevy Chase Attempt to Defend Barack Obama

So Chev thinks COOTUS isn't doing enough for our kids, that they should be at the top of the list when it comes to the environment. But our children are worthy of a debt burdoned future and a fiscally irresponsible government. Chev is just talkin bits and pieces of what he catches from the MSM. Shamefull...whatever happened to consistancy in one's belief.

Big Hollywood : Actors' Union Shutters 'Spider-Man' Musical: What Took So Long?

A disgrace! Taymor, Edge and Bono's egos have gotten out of control! Weak story and music, the star of the show is "flying" AND a hazardous work and audience environment...this was to become the new Broadway...ick! Thank goodness it won't be touring!

LOVED District 9. I hate alien movies but a friend told me to rent it, that I'd like it. I was really impressed with everything...I was drawn in by the story, conflict, acting, and the beautifully shot ugly grittiness of it all...and was even moved to tears a couple times. Word on the street is 2 is in the works. I hope they don't go all Hollywood.

Big Hollywood : Daily Gut: Palin's Cheat Sheet: Tempest in Teacup?

There's a huge difference between having a full state of the union address, or any long winded, charismatic speech on a telepromter and a handful of words written on one's hand-so in the moment you remember the order and/or everything you want to cover. I've not been following this to the letter, but if the MSM is spending all their time enraged and huffy about a few words on Sarah's hand and continue to not speak out about the annointed one's telepromter after his year with the title of president, just one of the many hypocrisies that contribute to their own demise.

Big Hollywood : Sandra Bullock: The Best of Both Award Worlds

That's disappointing to hear. . ."too popular". Julia Roberts won for Erin Brokovich(SP?), and she was popular. Hopefully Sandra will win the nom., she has certainly earned it. . .for her body of work and for The Blind Side. I love her and her husband, and they are one cool couple.

Big Hollywood : REVIEW: 'The Lovely Bones' Just Kind of Lie There

I really enjoyed the book, but if you want a great read, read Alice Seibold's autobiography Lucky. When I heard they were making The Lovely Bones into a movie, I was a little surprised they picked that one and not Lucky. I was really disappointed in the movie, it missed a lot of the strengths and themes of the book. It's also been in "the can" for a year or two, perhaps trying to fix it. Mark Wahlberg was miscast. Ryan Gosling was originally cast as the father, he would've at least made the mediocre material a little more palatable. If memory serves, Alice wrote The Lovely Bones as therapy to her brutal rape when she was in college. . .then she wrote Lucky, because as the police said after her rape, she was lucky to be alive. It's harrowing, brutal and triumphant and her strength brings tears and joy. It's a really good book.

Big Hollywood : Hollywood’s Hand Job, Or... How the Awards Season Comes Upon Us

Love your bite and jadedness;) Enjoyed this a lot. . . "As stars get their awards they’ll thank everyone under the sun except for Joe the Plumber, who paid the nine bucks to see the unoriginal celluloid roll mindlessly across his view on a Friday night after a 10 hour workday." The truth of this statement sums up the lot of the dog and pony shows. . .the movie stars, pitch enhanced karaoke croakers et al are so out of touch with who's paying their over-priced salaries.

Big Hollywood : REVIEW: The Beautiful & Moronic 'Avatar'

"James Cameron claims to have written this film fifteen years ago, which would put it squarely in the middle of the Ecstasy craze. All the glowing colors, peace, and love, that exists on Pandora certainly seems drug inspired." Good point Tim. It's only a movie, but like any other geek-genre cartoon/movie, it's groupies are steadfast in their loyalty. Do they even realize they're being manipulated from the very conception to premiere - from the writer to the marketing machine and all the little tid bits in between; including what we're allowed to see while the movie is being made? Hmm. . .;) ;)
