This is one of those lessons that makes the entire Summer Circle Program worth it! Thank you. We all know it. We are the masters of our lives. But we need a well put lecture like today’s to make us look beyond our nose and realize that we are the only obstacle to achieve success, to achieve and maintain good health, to become the great souls that we are meant to be. No excuses anymore… can I do it? Si se puede!

That is great to know. Now, how can we stay in contact with members of the group? People like you, for instance, that we would want to get input and commemts from?

Hello friends, I am here and I have had a very busy week (next one is even worse) so that explains my lack of participation... but I would add... the teachings nave not given an opportunity for “exploration.” The format of this month lectures/presentations does not create an environment for discussion. There are a lot of wonderful ideas that come across like "this is the way it is" and "this is what works if you do it this way" but "of course you can do things any way you want to you." With that framework, you either try it or you answer with a “negative” approach (i.e., you are not going to tell me how to do my stuff!). Since we want to be constructive and “positive” thinkers… some of us may say… “Let’s just wait and see how it goes, without making any comments.” Anyway, that is my response. I hope I can come back in a week and make more positive comments. Besos y abrazos to all.

“It is about people working together for the good of all of us.” Today's quote of the day and the matching video "Playing for Change" are perfect reminders of what our Silva Summer course is: a forum to share ideas, to help each other grow spiritually and to change our world. It is so refreshing to see how many people, in so many different ways, are doing their part to make this a better world. Wish everyone a very relaxing and refreshing weekend. Abrazos.

Now, this lesson alone makes the entire course worth it! What a powerful discourse! A fundamental question that I have not been able to answer in my 54 years on earth: what is my purpose in life? I had always said, the purpose is just to live well. But one day, many years ago, I read Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. There and then I started to ask myself, what is my purpose in life? I have not answered that question to my satisfaction yet. Therefore, I will dedicate a lot of time to today’s lesson and will go over the questions posed by Ken many times while I think of one of Frankl’s imperatives of logotherapy: “live as if your were already living for a second time and as if you had acted the first time as wrongly as you are about to act now!” Abrazos.

Projecting into inanimate objects. This is one of those difficult lessons that challenge my open-mindedness. Because the immediate reaction I feel is “what for?” If I want to know how matter works, I study physics or chemistry. I love those subjects. What is the practical application of this method? The idea of saving money on repair bills doesn’t motivate me. If something breaks, the repair woman (equal opportunity!) needs a job and I am happy to pay for the service. So what is the motivation for me? I do not know… Just another exercise to develop my intuition? Maybe. I know I need a lot of help in that department… but there has to be more than just exercising for the sake of exercising. I will have to meditate on this one. Interesting and intriguing for sure… Thank you Ken.

(Spider-Wasp cont'd) I was so glad I did nothing other than watch and drink my cold beer. Despite of the spider’s determination and my belief that the wasp was going to be history, nature prevailed. The wasp flapped those wings with such strength and for such a long time that the spider could not touch it and the web broke! I was amazed. I thought “there has to be a message here. This is a story of survival. A story of conquering adversity. A story of… even when things look bleak we need to keep fighting until the end, because what looks like THE END of the road might be just the beginning of a new life.” I had the last of sip my beer, went inside to check the blogs and see if anyone had written something inspirational in the Silva Circle and… what did I find? MarkHoover’s posting on “Strength from Adversity.” Mark: thank you for your story. What a “coincidence!” It has been just 40 days of this course and I am learning to identify the “coincidences” in my life… what other wonderful things await ahead?

Hum... Coincidences? Or Intuition starting to kick in? (This story goes in two comments… system did not take it in one only) I had decided that I would not check my e-mail anymore today and that I’d enjoy the muggy, humid afternoon (yea! I miss my tropical weather…) in my backyard. In a split second, a small black wasp flew by me and I said “oh no (it was another word, really) go away!” It didn’t, so I went inside the A/C (oh, America and the A/C available anywhere!) Got a beer and went outside to my favorite place. I glanced under a bamboo bench and… the wasp! It was caught in a spider web, fighting like a dragon trying to free itself. I felt terrible! Was it my fault? Was I too harsh when I thought GO AWAY? I wanted to go and free the wasp and at that very second Ms spider showed up. She was smaller but determined. For ten minutes I watched, undecided about what to do, a courageous battle of two titans. For ten minutes I debated, should I be a hero and save the wasp? Or let the spider enjoy her dinner while I feel guilty for wishing the wasp to get out of space?

Another wonderful morning in my world. It is so wonderful to wake up happy, knowing that there are 24 hours in front of me to learn, live and enjoy. This business of meditating every morning and every night really has a positive impact on my attitudes towards all that comes my way. Thank you Silva community for sharing. Abrazos

What a good subject today. Thank you Ken. It was important to me to hear and understand that to improve intuition (subjective education) some laws are to be followed. I really liked the analogy to the physical world: a law is a law and it acts on you whether you believe in it or not (e.g., the law of gravity). One of the laws that impacted me the most was: “Maintain coherent emotions with our actions in alignment and consistent with our deepest values.” It impacted me because I break it all the time! Perhaps that is the main reason I am not that intuitive (remember, I scored 30 in the June 30 test). Therefore, I am assigning myself an action item: to make an inventory of my values and then compare my list of goals (short, mid and long term) against those values. While I conduct that comparison, I will be alert to my emotions and let my heart, body and soul speak. What do I feel? How do I feel? And then answer the hardest question: are my actions consistent… do I walk the talk or just pretend? Due date for the action item: Tomorrow. Report outcomes to: My personal journal. Gracias.

Hi, I believe everyone that is here wants to better themselves. The fact that some people do not like the style of a given presenter and that they voice that opinion does not mean that they are being negative. I read those comments as "opportunities for improvement" that the leaders and coaches of this Master's Circle can use for future events. Even if there are comments that disagree with the teachings, they are and should be welcomed -don't you think? Diversity of thought (and civilized discussion) is a necessity to further our views and to clarify our believes. Abrazos.
