Question... A friend of mine said today "if you're going to run, run against somebody who needs to be replaced." Is it even possible to run against someone who represents a district in which you don't live? Like, say if the representative for the Amarillo area was a dirtbag, but I live in the Dallas area...I couldn't run against him or her because I don't live in that district, could I? Or can I theoretically run against anyone in the state?

I totally agree with you Ron. I also didn't always agree with Bush but I had great respect for him as a person, and I truly believe that his heart was in the right place. He lives by the same values I do, and that made a big difference to me. And yes, we do need to organize to get this ball rolling. A Facebook group is going at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=61183086243 to get that going. I know there are several such groups, but we really need to try to all be in ONE group so that we remain united and connected as a team.

I've been talking with the group admin of our Facebook group about co-chairing over our Texas operations, and was thinking about this while I was at work. I have some thoughts on how to achieve what we're shooting for, and would like your opinions. Of course I'm well aware that some of my ideas might be flawed, after all this is a pretty big undertaking, but I think it's a good starting point to tune and tweak, and go from there.

First of all, I think the role of a state's chairperson should be one of organizing... Increasing statewide awareness of the project by working with county-level volunteers (this means billboard rentals, bumper stickers, or even little business-card-sized thingies to pass out to people)...

Glenn has mentioned multiple times on his show that he wants everyday Americans running for office. So to me, the chairperson's role also means encouraging individuals who really exemplify the 9 principles and 12 values to run for office...whether it's city council or mayor or state representative, US representative, or US Senate. It's our job to get the right people running at all levels of the legislature, and then it's our job to support their campaigns with publicity. When the campaigning begins, our billboards advertising the site change to billboards showing that we endorse such-and-such local candidate. If we increase awareness properly, our endorsement will carry a great deal of weight. The campaigning will also be done by using our volunteers to talk with business owners about the project. Finding business owners who also fall in line with the 9 principles and 12 values will make them more likely to donate to the campaign, since they know they are giving to a candidate who lives by the same values. Does that make sense?

As I said, I'm sure I've missed something in here somewhere. Please feel free to fine-tune and such, but I think the plan above is a good starting point. Let me know your thoughts.

At the time I'm posting this, it's actually quieted down a little around here. Ironic. The only time this board shuts up...is on Sunday mornings. ;) Don't forget to worship God in the middle of our quest to take back the nation and put Him back in schools. :)

OK since little cards seem to be the easiest to use to spread the word, that's what I've got up first. They are available at http://www.cafepress.com/project912 at $7 for 8. I'll see what else I can put together.

This is true. They say you never know what you've got til it's gone... or in our case, til it's dangerously close to being gone! It's a wake-up call to America. As bad as Obama is for this nation, all things work together for good... :)

Not yet. We're pushing for that. I'll open an online store for this stuff tomorrow, and hopefully we can get Glenn to put a link to it in the navigation at the top.

EDIT: Actually, CafePress.com has some stuff up already. Some of it is kinda cheesy looking designs, but just go there and search for "912 project" and you'll get some stuff. Like I said I'll open a store for that stuff tomorrow too, and I should be able to get some good designs up.

And thank God for you too, TMnTexas. :) I just love people who love America. :)

It's not that I don't like your idea... I do... But don't you think if Glenn was wanting us to be saving up money for something like that, he'd let us know? :) I agree that his next move on 9/12 will be a big one, but I think it's going to be more along the lines of something that will empower us further. Some kind of tool to aid in campaigning is my guess.
