@zitouni... is boko haram fighting muslims? Let's move the battle arena to nigeria... is boko haram fighting muslims? No... are they taking slaves? Yes... are they raping them? Yes... Do they believe they are waging Jihad? Absolutey YES... as they have said in their beheading videos... By the way... I have never read about boko haram on an "anti-islam" site... I have only read about them from al-jazeera, Reuters, alarabia and other global news sources...
@Muslim Man... If I can show you two or more clear, irrefutable examples where Muhammad ordered the slaughter of persons speaking against him (i.e. disagreeing with him)… will you change your name to Non-Muslim Man and renounce islam? Think about it, you've said that it is bad for people to slaughter other people for disagreeing with them. If muhammad and his companions practiced this reprehensible behavior, don't you think this is a good enough reason for you to abandon islam? Do you want to be the follower of a man who so insecure that he assassinated people who spoke against him? Do you want to be the follower of a man who obviously has lower moral principals than you do? If you do, you can clearly see why I say islam is madness. Let me know when you are ready for me to post the information about muhammad the assassin. J Stillwater

@Muslim Man... you mention the idea that "political considerations" have to be investigated in order to reach a "fair" assessment. I would say: "fair enough" if this were isolated to one country or region within a country. However, murderous brutality is a trademark of islam wherever it spreads, from india to france, to the netherlands to the UK. It is NOT, as you are trying to get people to believe, an anomaly. It is the very nature of islam to spread brutality, opression and terror. Muhammad himself proclaimed: "I am made victorious through terror." Please visit This Link, and while you're there, have a look at the links on the right side of the page.
@Muslim Man... yet more muslims bring grief and heartache on their neighbors. Bangladesh: (home of the islamic terror organization: Harakat ul-Jihad-i-Islami/Bangladesh) Keep in mind as you read the following links, that the Bangladeshi muslims are turning away their Rohingya muslim brothers and sisters by the hundreds of thousands who are trying to reach safety from the violence that was sparked in neighboring burma, when 3 muslims raped and slit the throat of Thida Htwe, while she walked home from her job. They robbed her, and took her jewelry, and dumped her body in a mangrove field. Buddhists killed Buddhist temples torched Christians driven from their homes by muslims Protests agains muslim violence Apostates from islam persecuted Islam is madness.
@Muslim Man... yet more peace and harmony (persecution and butchery) brought on by muslims in islamic countries: Indonesia: (along with the usual muslim barbarism, we also have Sunni muslims against ahmadiyah "moderate" muslims for not being "muslim" enough).
@Muslim Man... First you called it "occasional tensions" in islamic countries, and now you state: "The violence happening in many of these countries baffles many people." Why would "occasional tensions" baffle many? Because it is more than occasional and it is more than tensions. See... In an earlier post regarding the "millions" of non-muslims living in virtual peace and harmony in islamic countries, instead of just coming out and admitting that there is "baffling" violence in these countries... you instead stated: "Occassionally there are tensions, and some of the tensions can be bloody - but these are an exception rather than the norm." I then asked you for five countries where these millions of non-muslims are living in all this peace and harmony, and you posted: Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria (REALLY?), Bangladesh... wow... are you SURE you want to post THESE countries? Nigeria? Bangladesh? Really? Let's let the muslims in these countries speak for themselves. Here are some links I prepared for you through my tears of grief and disgust. This is the general butchery and persecution link. I've posted other links as replies to this post. http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/3485/muslim-per... J Stillwater

@aminriadh/aminthemystic... read paragraphs 6, 7 and 8 in your post that generated my comments which you say are "lies." You'll see that you indeed DID post three paragraphs (with a quote from islamic scholar Ibrahim Sulaiman), from which I quoted two. You'll notice, if you read up the page, to where your name appears, you'll see "aminthemystic" as the person who posted that comment. So... is aminthemystic actually several people posting under the same screen name?
@Rainbow... with regard to Mr. Sina... there is a difference between just making the statement: "You are stupid," and making the statement: You are stupid (lacking intelligence or commond sense), BECAUSE... and then go on to illustrate why you are stating that a person is "lacking intelligence or common sense." One thing that you'll notice about Mr. Sina, and although you may not accept his arguments, he usually offers reasoning for making a statement about a person's intelligence or common sense. I'm sure in your exchanges with him, there must be loads of examples of this. J Stillwater

@aminriadh/aminthemystic... now you are speaking for all people everywhere? Why don't you say: "J Stillwater, WITH ME you have lost all credibility..." ?? That would be more accurate. Can you see how your statement is a fallacy? It assumes in the conclusion, several things that you would have to prove first. It is much more accurate to state: "you have lost all credibility WITH ME," since you can ONLY speak for yourself, and not for anybody else. Finally... your statement assumes that I once had credibility with you. I sincerely doubt this is the case, so again, logical fallacy, and just another attempt to "poison the well" in the hopes that your comments will distract readers away from my reasoning... classic debate tactics... but again... poorly played.
@Ali Sina and all... You are correct Mr. Sina. I do not think muslims are bad. As I stated to Muslim Man:
I don't have an "unfavorable" attitude toward muslims. I have a justified attitude toward muslims who are acting unfavorably. The problem is not muslims… muslims are people… and people are the same everywhere… the problem is islam… the destroyer of progress and civilization…
I have further discussed this in this series of comments: (part 1), (part 2). "Good" or "Evil" as I define it, has to do with behavior. "Good" is defined by the absence of "evil" behavior. In other words, if a person wants to be seen as good, then they must rid themselves of "evil" behavior, because in the presence of their evil behavior, they cannot be considered good. However, behavior, over time, does affect the mind and heart of a person. There does come a time when the line between person and behavior begins to blur. This is because practice becomes personality. This is not, however, a permanent condition, and can be changed by abandoning the cause of the evil behavior. J Stillwater

@Abid... you have to have a fast Internet connection to post long comments. If you have a slow connection, the intensedebate.com server seems to time out before your entire post as been sent. That's been my experience anyway. When I'm using a fast connection, I can post much longer posts. There is a limit, but with a slow connection, I can only make posts of around 200 words. J Stillwater

@aminriadh/aminthemystic... I'm glad you've finally admitted that islam is not a religion of peace, and is instead, an aggressive, religio/fascist ideology of supremacy and world domination. Thank you. You posted:
As the modern-day Islamic scholar, Ibrahim Sulaiman, puts it, "Jihad is not inhumane, despite its necessary violence and bloodshed, its ultimate desire is peace which is protected and enhanced by the rule of law." In truth, the Quran not only calls Muslims to submit to Allah, it also commands them to subdue people of other religions; until they are in a full state of submission to Islamic rule. This has inspired the aggressive history of Islam and its success in conquering other cultures."
As I've been saying... Islam is NOT a religion of peace. Thanks for giving us this scholar that we can now quote to show other people that Islam is not a religion of peace. It is exactly what we've been saying about it, it is madness. Only madmen say that "violence and bloodshed" are not "inhumane." Only madmen think they have the right to "subdue people of other religions." And only madmen (and madwomen) follow such insanity.
@Slave of prophet... you've made my case for me... A few days ago, you appeared and answered a post with the following comment:
Muslim are most peaceful people of the world. Islam does not need recognition from Kufr/non-believers as peaceful religion because Allah himself said Muslim are best people and best creature. Our prophet Mohammed was messenger of peace and established peace all over the world by establishing Islam.
I answered your comment (click here) and stated islam is indeed NOT the most peaceful religion... and you responded with the post just above this one... which contains the following statement:
My lord Allah do right by punishing and torture you in eternal hell fire. Quran rightly says kill the monster like you...
Now... why can't you see, that your allah, by using words like "punish" and "torture" and "eternal hell fire" proves islam is FAR from a religion of peace? Why can't you see that your qur'an, by using the words "kill" and "monster" proves that muhammad, islam, and muslims are NOT peaceful. I'm amazed, after your blatant contradiction, you still don't see the madness of islam. The word "peace" now means "punish" and "torture," and "kill" and "eternal hell fire." Yes, Slave of prophet… this all makes perfect sense. I can see why everyone should want to become a muslim. J Stillwater

@aminriadh/aminthemystic... please tell me these two statements are not saying the same thing in different ways... I wrote: "The whole idea of an "outline" is that it is not comprehensive," You replied: "No - Just because something is an outline - it doesn't make it comprehensive. It makes it the OPPOSITE of comprehensive." So... I wrote "not comprehensive" and your "the OPPOSITE of comprehensive." Isn't NOT comprehensive the same things as "the opposite" of comprehensive? In other words, isn't "not A" the same as "Non-A?" J Stillwater

Continued from above... @Muslim Man… you wrote:
Like you I will also shiver if something like the verse you quoted is read to me. But unlike you, I will try to understand why it is like that. I will investigate the context. Consult with the scholars. Check with people in the street. These are what you may consider doing in order to arrive at a better understanding of the Quran.
JS: That last statement is chock full of fallacies, as are most of the ones that follow it (see below). You're committing the fallacy of "begging the question," because you have assumed many things that are unproven. You assume, by saying "But unlike you…" that I have not tried to understand why it is like that. You also assume I have not investigated the context, consulted with scholars, etc. You also assume that any of these things will lead to a "better understanding of the qur'an." If the "interpretation" of these verses is constantly being changed by "qualified scholars," (as you've already stated), how can I ever have a clear understanding of the qur'an? How can you? How can anyone? Your next paragraph contains so many fallacies I will handle it all fallacy-by-fallacy using bold text for your comments and plain text for my responses. But you have to do it in an honest manner [Ouch! Begs the question, and is ad hominem… because it assumes I have not done my studies in an "honest manner."] Learn about the Quran and Muslims with no preconceived ideas and suspicion." [Ouch! Begs the question… assumes that I approach my study with "preconceived ideas and suspicion."] such as: "don't expect Muslims to be honest," "Muslims are liars" [The islamic practice of taqia (click here) says muslims are indeed liars, in fact, muslims are encouraged to lie if it suits their strategic goals… people who follow a systematized doctrine of lying, for whatever reason… cannot be expected to be honest… and.. because they are told to practice lying… they are liars… right?] Muslim Man, you criticized my statement: "Islam is a cult" [ Please look up the definition of the word "cult" and then tell me why islam does not fit that description: "…a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister" - does that description fit what the Quraysh thought of muhammad for 12 years (while all the while he taunted and insulted them and their religion and hurled threats at them like "Hear me, O Quraysh. By Him who holds Muhammad’s life in his hand, I will bring you slaughter.") until he was run out of mecca? (his behavior sounds "sinister" doesn't it?) Some people, have never stopped seeing islam as a cult. I'm one of those people. I don't think anything different about muhammad than the Quraysh did (they thought he was a dangerous madman and islam was a dangerous cult, and they KNEW him personally). So, the view of islam being a cult, has been around since the very first day muhammad stepped forward and condemned his neighbors to hell fire… and this "cult" label just continues until today.] --- these are non starters if you want to have a meaningful dialogue [ begs the question… because it assumes I must speak untruths in order to have "meaningful dialogue" and it is a fallacy called "appeal to moderation," which states that a person must bring their ideas and language (and logical reasoning) more and more toward the opponents side in order to appease the opponent into being engaged in the discussion. This is a fallacy.] These are insults [red herring and "appeal to emotion"… just because muslims are insulted by the information I provide, or the things I say, doesn't mean I am intentionally insulting them (the side or "red herring" argument). What I am doing is making very well informed observations (not insults), and from those observations I am making certain conclusions, and then, presenting those conclusions as my reasons for calling muhammad a false prophet and islam false. If muslims are offended, I would suggest they use their allah given logic and show me why my observations are false. If a muslim "insults" me, it is just further proof that they have no logical REASONING to answer my claims and observations… so they will "retaliate" with insults, instead of taking a VERY hard and critical look at their prophet and his islam. ] and the Muslims may consider reciprocating, if they don't have enough patience [muslims insult non-muslims (kafir, infidel, donkeys, apes and swine, etc.) in their qur'an, in their mosques, in their prayers, on the streets in their protests, in their fatwas, in their shariah law, and at the slightest perceived provocation… but thanks for the warning. ] J Stillwater
