I work at Morton Hospital....what a small world!! Yes, the state forest can be VERY confusing esp at night!! Cool tid bjt of info for you too....you can cut thru the forest to get to Plymouth onto Long Pond Rd. which will take you to the PineHills as well!! It is a nice drive if you ever have some extra time and felt like a jaunt!! I grew up in Plymouth, it is a great town even though it has grown SUBSTANTIALLY since I graduated high school and moved out of town! My parents are still there....I think about the area that they bulit the new development....I used to ride (horses) out there....my old barn is on Old Sandwich Rd. which ubuts the PineHills area....I told my daughter if we won the house, I would get have her start taking lessons at my old barn!! I too hope they havent come to surprise anyone as of yet, I had high hopes it would be a person from MA as well!! Again, best wishes and have a great day!!!
and the Cape, well the Sagamore Bridge to get to the Cape, is about 5 miles or so down rt 3 in the other direction....all I have to say is Christmas Tree Shop!! It is this AWESOME store, not christmas stuff, but very cape cod like, sells almost anything and everything and it is my FAV place to go for designing rooms, decorating etc. and cheap?? I never buy my pic frames anywhere else....they are all from there and I have never paid over 10 dollars for one!! but again, it is right over the bridge on the Cape side and you HAVE to be sure to go there!! I cant wait to see if the winner is someone on here and I hope that they will email me and tell me so I can tell them about all the places to check out!! It is a great place, has changed alot since I was little but I still love it there....it shows, I didnt go far, Im in the next town over!! =) best of luck and again, if I can help with questions, please please write me!!
sorry it took me so long to get back to you....well, the great part is the the PineHills development is RIGHT off exit 3 off route 3 which goes directly into the city....from there I am going to say about 40-45 miles...takes me 50 min from my moms house in Manomet (which is a southern section of Plymouth) to get into the city....bad thing, rt 3 is a 2 lane hiway and in case you havent heard, Mass drivers are NOTORIOUSLY rude!! To quote a phrase that gets tossed around by people, it sounds like Mass and has the word hole at the end of it....ya, I have heard THAT one a million times!! But again, it is very accessable to the hiway which i think made it so attractive to professionals from the city to want to come and live on the southshore as we call it....
It is so exciting to see all the posts and comments etc....I just posted to another woman who was saying she hoped to put up her American flag on the porch...I am from Plymouth, born and raised, and our motto? America's Hometown!! I was saying too, there is a big thanksgiving parade on the sat before the holiday, the 4th of July one is awesome too, esp for the kids!! Lots of candy and gift throwing!! The thanksgiving one is alot of muskets and guns going off so my daughter hates that part....lol....but my parents are still there, about 3 miles away from this house or so and the barn I used to ride at is on the road ajacent to the PineHills....I used to ride the trails in there before it was all built up!! It is a really really nice area and I know that whoever wins will enjoy themselves so much!! Best of luck to all!!
AND as a native "Plymouthian" I will tell you that our motto is America's HomeTown and u will be sure to see flags EVERYWHERE!! There is a SUPER Thanksgiving Day parade the Sat before thanksgiving and also a great one on the 4th of July along with huge goings on and fireworks!! The beach is beautiful, the shopping is great....it is a great town and I am proud to have lived there....It is my hometown and the hometown of America!!
My b-day is the 28th of June....it WOULD be so cool to win it as a b-day gift!! My husband said to me, what are we going to do on your b-day and I said, hello, watch TV to see who won the house!!
