Great game tonight! It's so nice to start off the season with a win. And there were SO many positives to take away from this game! Can't wait to see Tyreke out their with Beno, Green, Landry and Cousins on Friday. New season, Go Kings!

Kings shot themselves out of this one early. WAY to many jumpers and not enough aggressive drives to the basket, even for Tyreke. It doesn't look like they learned from the last game against the Clips, which doesn't give confidence. The ticky tack fouls seem to be the "thing to call" right now by these refs and it makes me fear that Cousins will be plagued by them this season. All in all, after a really bad loss, this game was not encouraging!

Really lookin forward to seeing what Marcus brings defensively to the floor, he was a great defender at the college level and I know he was working on that over the summer as well. Also will be good to see Beno and Reke together on the floor again. They know enough of each others game now, so they should be even better than last year. It'll also be a good test for Boogie's conditioning. Can't believe i'm so excited for the pre-season. Go Kings, lets get it this year!

Full Court Press : JT Checks-In From Grgurich's Camp

Did you read what I wrote? "If you look at it from a purely "athletic" standpoint, Sac is WAY ahead of both those teams! That in no way means their better or more talented." Read BEFORE you reply. These guys do have skill, it just hasn't fully developed yet. And at this point in the NBA, I would much rather have a young athletic up and coming squad of twelve guys than a group of guys on their way out! Especially considering the number of other young athletic up and coming squads (OKC, POR, ATL, CHI, MEM...ETC) who already have a few more years than this team. Because it's THOSE types of teams that will be the ones playing for championships in the next few years. Oh, and NO, athletes DON'T win championships! Clutch players do! And loads of those guys (Fisher, Horry that sob, Posey...etc) are not athletic. Being athletic is a bonus! Tyreke didn't hit game winners cause he's an athlete. He hit em cause he's clutch! He feels the moment and isn't afraid of it. Cousins obviously showed some of that mentality in summer league, thats a big plus as well. That attitude rubs of on teammates too. The game, as well as the league, is all about runs. The Kings arn't nearly at a full sprint yet, but with development, they'll be running OVER teams with that bonus of athleticism in three years.

Full Court Press : JT Checks-In From Grgurich's Camp

How do either of those teams have the "best athletes"? San Antonio is ancient and the only "major" athlete on LA is Shannon Brown, who really isn't that good (no jummper, not a good passer, not a slasher) otherwise. If you look at it from a purely "athletic" standpoint, Sac is WAY ahead of both those teams! That in no way means their better or more talented, but athletic....oh ya, way more! And JT was never spos to have to do all the work. The team was hoping Hawes would have been the force in the middle, but his defense NEVER got better. With the help he has now, JT's going to SHOCK people this season. Less pressure means he can just be patient, which is the next step in his growth. Patience is also what Kings fans need to continue to have, I still say playoffs next year (though i'll admit there's a SLIGHT chance they could do it this season) as the 7th seed in a (yet another) super tight western conference. We'll get there, this teams finally headed in the right direction again!

Oh WOW! Thats hilarious. Someone commenting on a team (player specific) he CLEARLY doesn't watch. Go root for you Lakers "Gman" (or whatever other bandwagon your on) and maybe ACTUALLY watch a Kings game before you write something so INCREDIBLY ignorant! But hey, you might just know nothing about basketball, which is most likely the case.

Sorry Doug, thats never gonna happen. Sac fans want this team, the owners want the team and the mayor of the city wants the team! I give it two years before the new arena is announced! Side note; the Maloofs visited Seattle recently...strictly to find out how things went wrong so they could avoid those things themselves! Sorry!

Of course players don't "fear" most guys on this team...yet. They've only shown a small amount of what they can do! Think of it this way; Reke really didn't have a jumper last season, teams knew he was going to the hole..and they STILL COULDN"T STOP HIM! No one does that! That is the very definition of a star. A guy, who you know what he's gonna do, and he does it anyway! And by the way, you don't think people fear Landry? He lead the league in points in the fourth quarter, most of last season! You add Dalembert, Whiteside, JT and Cousins to the mix and teams are going to "fear" the Kings paint this season. This team has a MUCH higher skill set than last years group and their WAY bigger too. It takes time to earn that respect/fear from other guys in this league, but players like Casspi, JT, Green, Whiteside and Cousins definitely have the ability to get it! Lets give this team time to see what their capable of together before we all go asking for overpriced free agents or trades.

Again, there is NO NEED for a "prolific" player. As stated above, we have one, quite possibly two! Why is it people want GM's to go get washed up players that their just goin to be pissed at later? Thats whats called WASTING MONEY! The Kings are going to see where they stand come the allstar break, then MAYBE pick someone up or trade. But ONLY if the team is on fire and looks like they might actually make the playoffs. Calm down people, playoffs next year and many more after that! Good things come to those who wait. In Petrie We Trust.

People should all chill. Why do you want a GM to go out and overpay for someone your just going to be angry about them going out and overpaying for in two years? It's not about going out and getting a "star" now, WE ALREADY HAVE ONE! Anyone who watched last season knows that. This year is goin to be about the big men. Seeing how Cousins plays with this team and against NBA talent, seeing if Dalembert is whatever Petrie thinks he can be, (Geoff has been interested in Samuel for a few years now) and if Donte` and JT can step up to their "potential". This team has the talent, it just needs to mature together. Then all that Cap will start lookin REALLY sweet to some key "role player" type of guy! But that'll be next year when the team will be on it's way to the playoffs and the start of something potentially amazing!

Chris, did you watch many games last year? Or see how much the western conference changed this offseason? Sac prob wont make the playoffs, but they'll definitely be close. Utah and Phoenix are not going to be as strong as last season. Then look at "low" totem teams; Minn, GS, Memphis, NO, LAC. Sac is already better than the first three and could easily be better than NO or LAC if Cousins and Dalembert play well. I still believe the team is a year and MAYBE a good 2 or 3 guard away from the playoffs. But when they do get into em, they'll go in higher seeded than people think they will, (like 6th of 7th seed) because their talent level is already higher than other teams, they just need the extra time together!
