Big Peace : Oppose Shariah, Don’t Burn the Quran

Try this guy, not that the one you listen to is bad. This man John MacArthur is an expert that teaches experts. His commentaries and works including being a member of the translation team for the NKJV are impeccable. http://www.gty.org/ He explains not only the history of the era and the context of scripture but he explains how the eastern mind worked back then and today. He will broaden your understanding of scripture immensely. Then listen to this guy as well he is a fabulous man that travels the world talking to all peoples and cultures about Christ. http://www.rzim.org/. Ravi Zacharias answers the questions nobody wants to take on. You will never find where one of these says anything that contradicts the other. Which is why I found your choice of scripture and its usage strange. These guys are grandstanders they are the real deal. They have no political agenda. They serve Christ and Him alone. If you havent read it yet read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It is nondenominational and he makes that clear in the introduction. He tells you what Christianity is and what it is not.. I hope these help

If the church is not growing its dieing, thats a fact. We are commanded to make disciples therefore a church should be an evangelizing church and it should not stay static. IF it does it is dieing. 99% of the time that is due to unbiblical teaching. So you would have to look at the age of the church This is taken directly from the "about us" section of their website. They have been around for 24 years and only have 50 members? "History Our church was founded in September 1986 by Dr. Don in the living room of his home in Spring Forest here in Gainesville, Florida. After the initial meetings in his house, Dove conducted meetings at the Holiday Inn West and the former Center Theater which was located on NW 13th Street. On Thanksgiving Day 1986, the current location in the Mile run Subdivision was identified and through the sacrifice of the first members, $150,000 was raised in 28 days to close the deal for the land purchase. In 1987 construction on the main sanctuary was begun and the dedication service was conducted in February 1988." That is a dead church and misuse of God's word is why. God is not in that church.

I dont believe you do see my friend. You dont like that I disagree with you because the Bible tells us this is NOT how we are to act or respond. Its not your approval I am after anyway. Its Gods. As long as He is happy with me I am fine. You think what you want.

Thats for the US to do not Christians. Christians will go to war only when we are led by our King. Not a president. Christians may be in the military but Christianity fighting as representing Christianity is forbidden until the King returns and He will lead that fight. So US fighting great. Thats what needs to be done. Christianity fighting no sir.

Then how is it you use the scriptures out of context? The reason for attending a church WITH OTHER BELIEVERS is that when you do misinterpret something they are there to answer your questions and steer you in the right direction. Youtube cant do that. You must have fellowship with other believers and be led by a Bible teaching pastor. Not a video. I know, "people dont go to church because of all the hypocrites." And there are less hypocrites sitting at home on a Sunday morning rather than in a church? You defended small church size with belief yet you dont attend yourself. Do you not find that odd?

Study in CONTEXT man! Who is Jesus attacking? The people defiling HIS TEMPLE. Who did Jesus call hypocrites? HIS PRIESTS. Jesus wasnt jumping on lost people he was gettin in the grill of people who KNEW BETTER and were taking ADVANTAGE of the people at large. NOT the same thing dude. 43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matt 5:43-48 (ESV) Q. How do you square this with Jesus jacking up the pharisees and running people out of the temple? A. The Lord was cleaning His own house not attacking someone elses. Thats what allows the verses I showed you to be correct and Jesus not be a hypocrite. We are doing the same thing when we oppose this burning of this book. We are setting our own house in order. This man needs to be chased out of the temple with a whip.

Nope it means exactly what you said. The conflict comes in when you dont pay attention to the rest of the 7 verses along with it. They endured all and gave no offense. Christianity offends people on its own, we are to share the Gospel with them and if they are offended when you share the Gospel you are blessed for it. It doesnt say pick a fight and you will be blessed. I am not going to change your mind and you are going to keep trying to avoid the simple truth which is that at no time are we to do anything like this. Your problem is with God not me. He is the one that wont bless you doing it. If we want to oppose muslims we need to do it in an orderly respectful fashion so that no blame can be cast at the feet of our Lord. Christians arent opposing this out of cowardice they are opposing this because its unbiblical and unChristian and unAmerican. You deal with it how you wish, but you are on the wrong side of this argument.

Take the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians although you could use any aposlte. Verse 3 is pretty clear but for the entire context take other 7 along with it. 3 We put no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, 4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, 5 beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; 7 by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. 2 Cor 6:3-10 (ESV) By honour and dishonour. The apostle is still illustrating the proposition that he and his fellow-labourers endeavoured to give no offence, (2 Corinthians 6:3,) and to commend themselves as the ministers of God, 2 Corinthians 6:4. He here (2 Corinthians 6:8-10) introduces another group of particulars in which it was done. The main idea is, that they endeavoured to act in a manner so as to commend the ministry and the gospel, whether they were in circumstances of honour or dishonour, whether lauded or despised by the world. The word rendered "by" (δια) does not here denote the means by which they commended the gospel, but the medium. In the midst of honour and dishonour, whatever might be the esteem in which they were held by the world, they gave no offence. The first is, "by honour." They were not everywhere honoured, or treated with respect. Yet they were sometimes honoured by men. The churches which they founded would honour them, and as the ministers of religion they would be by them treated with respect. —Barnes' Notes on the New Testament So if Paul and his co workers endeavored to give no offense and we are to model ourselves after them what do you think that pastor should do? Its inescapable the conclusion you must come to. You have to work to get at burning that book. The size of that church is an indication that the church stands on opinion instead of the Word of God. Yes there are mega churches that are fallen but there are many that are not. Mine stands on the Word and we are not a big church we only have about 2800 people in service. Jensen Franklins church right down the road has about 3 times that and he stands on the Word and preaches it straight out of the Bible IN CONTEXT. That pastor asked the questions in his latest interview how long are we to put up with it, when is enough enough? Good questions but as a Christian he has already been given his answer. Until Christ comes.

What did Jesus tell you to do? What are two greatest commandments? You cannot find one example of the Apostles doing anything remotely like this. "Love the Lord you God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind" is the greatest commandment and the second is like it "Love your neighbor as yourself". As C.S. Lewis points out like it or not our neighbor also includes our enemy which Jesus also tells you to love. At no time is it ok for a Christian to endanger other Christians. Jesus Himself will take care of the muslims, unless of course you dont believe your bible. Mainstream Christianity isnt cook(coook?) christianity. There is a reason this church only has 50 members in a town the size of Gainesville Florida.

because this man is endangering innocent Christians who are trying to help muslims across the world. Do you realize how many Christian doctors voluntarily travel across the world to give medical aide and care to muslim people each week? Hundreds each week. From the middle east to the african continent. This man is endangering them and their mission with his arrogant stupidity. Its also not founded on biblical principle.

I wrote this pastor this morning. I sent him 1 Corinthians 6:12 which says, "12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything 1 Cor 6:12 (ESV)" I told him I am not in disagreement with him on his opinion of islam and its origins. However that doesnt give us the right to endanger other Christians which is what this will do. They just killed 10 missionaries after robbing them one at a time. The dentist was part of Helping Hands Ministry which my church is a part of. It will make doing missionary work in muslim countrys next to impossible. I asked him if he could site one instance of any of the Apostles doing what he is attempting to do. I bet I wont get a reply. The answer is they never did this sort of thing. Its not Christian. Paul in Acts 18 when he is speaking to the greeks has just finished looking at all their idols and tells them, "I have been studying your objects of worship......" he didnt rush out to burn them or destroy them. Yes the people of that congregation have the Constitutional right to burn the quran, just as some artist has the right to put a cross in a jar of urine and call it art. Its not the right thing to do because of the danger it poses to innocent Christians who are trying to share the Gospel message with the muslim world. Its a selfish thing to do actually. Which is also not Christian. The other aspect of this that this man doesnt consider is that this is exactly the type of behavior that the enemies of Christianity will hold up as mainstream when all of mainstream Christianity opposes this sort of thing and would never do it. Its not that we respect islam, we dont. There is only one God and Lord Jesus and his name isnt allah. Its that we are trying to reach them and you cant do that by poking a hornets nest with a stick.

9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 13 God judges those outside. "Purge the evil person from among you." 1 Cor 5:9-13 (ESV) This refers strictly to Christians. Christians are to judge other Christians conduct not the conduct of those who do not claim to be a brother. God judges them which is the entire context of Romans. The members of Goproud know they are sinning. It is written on their hearts and in their minds or do you doubt God's word? They condemn themselves as Romans says. Their thoughts and actions either excusing them or accusing them. We need do nothing but pray. We are not to be finger pointers at nonbelievers but helpers. We are to clean our own house before we ever attack someone elses.

Thats a prime example of scripture out of context. That is referring to marriage with an unbeliever. Follow what the Bible says not what you want it to say. Paul is very clear in all his epistles about how we are to act and what we are to do. Stop believing man and start believing God. Paul told christians in Corinthians that we were not to be apart from the world for we would have to leave it for that to happen. Instead we are not to act like the world. Dont do what they do. Stop misusing Christianity to suit your purposes and start being a Christian. Or do you forget what Jesus himself told the crowd wanting to stone the adultress? Throw your rock if you can.......

World net has made the mistake that is unfortunately taught as being "christian" when its really not. They oppose gay marriage and rightfully so according to scripture, however scripture does NOT tell you to hate them or even remove yourself from them. It tells you to remove yourself from anyone WHO CALLS THEMSELF A BROTHER (thats Bible speak for Christian) who does those things. We are supposed to help those guys and gals. We are to love them. We are to pray for them. We can work with them. We dont have to accept that their view is correct we just keep being cool to them and pray for them. Unfortunately this has been preached out of context in many churches. We are to be salt and light, you cant taste the individual salt grain in a pile of salt. But you sure can taste it on the food it flavors. You cant see an individual light with the sun shining behind it but you can see it in the dark for miles.
