Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 3/25/09 - 3/28/09

The law you pass today to preserve YOUR freedom is taking away my freedom. So in return the law I pass tomorrow to preserve MY freedom is severely limiting your freedom. When does this vicious cycle end when we are all housed in padded rooms taking half breaths so we don't contribute "Global Warming", or maybe its when your local city hall has to build a new storage building to house all the laws on the books? What is happening in our country at a local level and all the way down to the halls of congress is a piling on of laws. If I run for congress is it mandatory that i pass a few laws or maybe even author a couple laws? So people will think I'm doing my job and they will let me come back again? If so than imagine what our country will look like in 100 years or just for kicks what will it be in 500 years. My friends I propose that if you want to create a new law that you have to take a different law off the books and that every law will expire after 4-10 years. That way when new people go to congress they have work to do in renewing laws, they will be busy maintaining what is there and letting expire what is not relevant. I also would like to propose term limits. No more career politicians If you would like to be involved in your country then you cannot hold more then one term in any one branch of government. and no retirement for working in public office. You could still receive 174k or what ever for one term in congress but no benefits after you leave office. If I was able to pick a member of congress for only one term I would be fine picking someone out of the phone book. it would be a great improvement from what we have today. Thank You Glenn Beck for all you do JPY
