At the moment there is no challenge. I've heard a lot about Eddy Butler proposing to challenge but the way he's gone about it is against the Constitution that i voted for. I didn't vote for it lightly, i considered all the points raised, listened to the arguments for and against and voted with my head. Michael Barnbrook's 'statement' is disappointing. Is it actually a statement? Has it been reported in full or altered in any way? If it's full and complete then he's as dillusional as the 'would-be' challenger. Plus his words smack of self servitude. Surely we don't serve the BNP and Nationalism for self promotion and applause? From what i've read on the BNP site, on here and other Nationalist blogs, the work that Michael Barnbrook has done has been appreciated. I've also seen the words of others that are supporting Eddy Butler. None hold any weight, and not one of these are from anyone of a high enough calibre to make any sort of challenge to Nick Griffin. It's a sad reflection on society in general that people can be gullible enough to be persuaded by lies. And, lies is exactly what is being put out by this particular challenge. I believe it was timed prey on peoples personal insecurities following the GE. It was at a time when Activists were exhausted and on a low ebb. They'd not taken into consideration that EVERY party suffered in this election, and haven't looked at the gains the BNP made in the bigger picture of things. As soon as the election was over, within minutes of the final count Nick Griffin sprung into action. While we were still licking our wounds and needing sleep he looked at the bigger picture and threw himself into analysing the outcome and has spent his time since gearing the Party up to making the changes needed to do battle in this new era of politics. All you need to do is look at his "Deadline 2014" article on the BNP site to see the difference in class between a progressive Chairman and the scribblings of a would-be challenger. There are hate filled blogs and forums set up with the sole intention of trying to cause division in our Party. Just because any Tom, Dick or Harry says something, it doesn't mean it is true. Just because they will repeat lies over and over again doesn't make them any more real. I'm glad it's only the odd handful of posters on them. Mainly non BNP members but they are purporting to support Nationalism. With 'friends' like these, who needs enemies, eh? If they are refusing to see the bigger picture and just spreading venom one has to wonder why? There can only be one answer, and it's not in the interests of Nationalism. So, pay no heed to these 'wannabes' and the disgruntled with an axe to grind. I don't believe there is any one person within our Party at this moment in time who could do the job of our Chairman. I can only hope that when he goes onto the larger platform there will be a group of people here who can carry on his work in the way he's made it possible to develop. I don't believe we need a leadership challenge. Nick Griffin has said when he is going to stand aside, and that is when he enters the next stage of representing our rights and those of our European counterparts. We have to look to the bigger picture or we will be swallowed up in scribbles. We'll have no future. Being English, Irish, Scottish or Welsh will be consigned to history.
