Today the republicans have an unnatural alliance between social conservatives and economic conservatives. It is tied into a fabric of anti-intellectualism, and anti-immigration. With the demographics of the country changing, and various constituencies like latin-americans are being pushed away to the democrats, the republicans have to change. If not they are dead meat!!!!!!! It is a losing battle to fignt the demographic change. So for all of you who are yelling and screaming, it is change or watch your party die..
