I already live in Texas and I must say this is good news. The Texan mentality doesn't allow a lot of room for interference from any level of government. And we sure don't want anything to do with a lot of the ridiculous things going on in Washington DC. I am impressed that Gov. Perry and the state legislature are on the same page.

Mike, I aggree 100% our constititution allows congress to grant letters of marque. If I owned a boats I would petition congress myself for one and go hunt these pirates they are scum and don't have any rights to capture, pillage, steal or kill anyone, especiallyan American citizen. Its the governments call to respond with force. I am glad they eventually did, but i imagine the call came from the Joint Chiefs and possibly the National Security Advisor, A former Marine General and former Commandant of the Marine Corps named James Jones.

Well Mr. Obama, it seems finally got something right. I would say that is an improvement over Jimmy Carter. More then likely he gave in to overwheming pressure from the joint chiefs and his National Security Adviser, former Marine Corps General James Jones. If it had been me, the seals would have rectified the situation soon after it had happened but then again, I have served my country in the United States Marine Corps. I am all for using whatever force is nesscessary to save American lives whether its in international waters, or on another nation's sovereign soil.
