And it worries me terribly that this bill will pass in the senate even though indications now seem that it may not. I called my congressman's office and told them that if he voted for yes for the bill that me and others like me would go door to door if we have to to make sure that he would never serve in congress again, and I will do that but this will take a concerted effort by all of us, regardless of party to send a message and send it now that we as Americans are fed up with the way our government is abusing it's power, neglecting our Constitution, and spending and taxing us into oblivion. While some of these checks will go uncashed , because the person to whom they were delivered is either honest otrcan't figure out how to cash them, others will be cashed by sons, daughters, relatives with similar or same names and by people with fake IDS at check cashing establishments. However even if every check were returned or shredded and thrown in the trash, the cost of printing, mailing , paperwork and anything else that hasn't come to my mind at the moment will probably run into the millions of dollars. We really need to start holding these people responsible for their actions. The ridiculous explanation of we had to get the checks out fast is unacceptable. Their was even a report from Long Island of a woman who received a check for her deceased father who died in Italy before we even had Social Security, in other words he wasn't even in the Social Security system.
