I have to agree. Lately everybody's been agreeing with each other and Rob always used to play Devil's Advocate. That's why I enjoyed this episode so much, George brought some fresh opinions to the cast, as opposed to the normal wiirecast procedure, which goes something like this: Ian makes a silly comment, Scott makes a joke, James agrees with Scott or disagrees with Ian, Chris makes an very odd reference to something else, and Andrew stays quiet. Maybe you should have Rob back on as a special guest. Or even Aaron, he's cool beans.

y James King is a sexy man beast, he impregnates any woman within a five mile radius with his amazing voice. He is so obviously better than that weakling known as Scott. James is the superior canadian life form and can easily take down scott in a maple syrup showdown. A winner is James. (I also demand a shoutout to htopa in 109. make it happen, cool kids!)

PODCAST OVERLOAD. 1up and Giant Bomb are releasing Daily 1 hour + podcasts and I still have left over stuff from last week. I'll get to this one later today and see what you guys have to say; most of the other podcasts have been kinda down on Nintendo's showing (I don't blame them).

The Wiire : Wii Sports Resort Announced

This game looks like a ton a fun, but it's a pretty radical departure from the precedent the original Wii Sports set. I don't even think there are any "actual" sports in this game? Sure, fencing (aka lightsaber duels) with MotionPlus looks awesome, but I can't help but feel this whole concept kinda came from left field. I think there needs to be more information for me to pass any form of judgment, but what I will say is this: if they throw in online with Wii Speak, I'll be sold.

Voice Chat will be fun, I missed out on online in AC:DS, so that's the portion of the game I'm looking forward to the most. Also, maybe we can get all the cool Wiire folks into a chat room and make a sort of IRC 2.0. Maybe even a dedicated Wiire town? The possibilities are endless.

The Wiire : The Wiire - Nintendo Announces Wii MotionPlus

I couldn't disagree more about the "delay" being a business decision. I find this particular form of logic to be both disturbing and irrational. If Nintendo could have released a better Wiimote at launch, I personally believe that they would have. As long as this peripheral doesn't cost anywhere over $20 and is bundled with key titles that use the functionality, then I don't see the problem. This is simply Nintendo improving upon their product to ultimately benefit the consumer. Money is obviously a driving factor, but I do not believe someone at Nintendo said "Yes, let's gimp our remote and release the extra functionality later to strike our consumers wallets for massive damage". That being said, I'm extremely excited for the possibilities this brings forth, however I also see why some people would be worried that this is going to cross the line between video game and simulation. Personally, I'm placing my bets on Red Steel 2 and quite possibly a Wii Sports 2. I would love for Zelda to use this, but I doubt that particular franchise is going to have any major representation during the conference aside from a quick teaser to please the fanboys.

The Wiire : The Wiire - Activison Announces

OH GOD ACTIVISION MAKE IT STOP. Honestly, an entire brand devoted to crappy shovelware? I guess it's cool idea, this way I know what I WON'T be buying. But then again, I wouldn't have bought "Rapala Fishing Frenzy" anyways. Could they at least try to make these games sound somewhat decent? Even this whole "Wee 1ST" moniker makes this sound like Activision isn't even trying. I would have loved to sit in on the board meeting that came up with that brand name!

The Wiire : The Wiire - The Wiire Podcast

I couldn't help but think that your discussion about Wii Fit usage in Japan was a bit one-sided. You guys focused a lot on the negative aspect, and while I agree that 64% is a rather large number, Aielyn (one of the forum mods) provided an interesting prospective from the opposite side. Here's a quote from the original thread: "Remember that Wii Fit was released in Japan in early December, 2007. That's 7 months ago. Second, try inverting the numbers - 36% of Wii Fit owners are still playing the game. Indeed, 22% of them continue to use it daily. That's seven months after it released, 22% are using it daily, 36% are using it weekly. Think about that - 36% are continuing to use it 7 months later. To put it into even better perspective, there are about 2.3 million copies of Wii Fit sold in Japan. That means 830,000 Japanese Wii Fit owners are using the game at least weekly, and 500,000 using it daily. That's really not an insignificant number, using a fitness device daily." Here's a link to the thread which also provides a poll on the Wii Fit Usage of fellow Wiire forum members: http://boards.thewiire.com/index.php?showtopic=28... This podcast also NEEDS MORE JAMES.
