We still don't know everything the Dharma Initiative was doing - nor what the Others who replaced them were doing. The D.I. may have been experimenting with polar bears living in that climate for all we know.

...The polar bears were kept in cages by the Dharma Initiative for experiments. The first one encountered in the series just managed to escape - what's wrong with that?

Now we just have to wait for Lost to dominate the lists again. There's about 120,000 people on each of the 5x01 and 5x02 torrents right now (about 240,000 total) - completely excluding those that have finished, haven't started, or are using one of the other 5x02 torrents that was uploaded.

Well, the vast majority of people misunderstand what ironic means (I'm still unsure myself, even with a definition, so I never use the word). That song by Alanis Morissette doesn't help either.

Sounds like Britain followed the lead of the US. Back when the first Survivor aired, the shows over here reverted to "crappy competition shows", and is only barely recovering.

TorrentFreak : Top 10 Most Pirated Movies on BitTorrent

YAY City of Ember!! I read the books years ago, and for anyone wondering, the movie doesn't stay completely true to it - but all the changes only to made it a better movie, without cutting any of the important scenes that made the book so good. (With one exception, the opening sequence was the surprise ending of the book) Also, there are two sequels and a prequel - People of Sparks, Diamond of Darkhold, and Prophet of Yonwood. One of the insignificant scenes left in the movie hints that People of Sparks will be made at one point.
