#2, please don't accuse ALL bloggers of being mindless sheep. There are some who do not run with the flock, or worship those you accuse of being shepherds.

I personally do not purchase or wear some massively popular skins on principle. There are several shops I won't patronize because I believe we've reached saturation level in SL, and homogenization is not my idea of fashion. And yes, there are plenty of shops I won't patronize because the skins, in my opinion, are just plain bad. I'm not angry about it. I don't tell people, "You shouldn't wear _____ because _____." That would be shitty. I just choose not to shop there.

That said, I do agree with Sileny. Everyone has their own taste. Whereas you may think that 20 other skins are better than one particular skin, I may think those 20 skins are the most heinous garbage I've ever seen. Different tastes are the impetus for variety.

I suggest you start a blog in your own language. People will read it. I blog what I like, not what everyone else is wearing (and I receive no payment for it.) I suggest you do the same, if it means that much to you. One piece of advice though? Lose the attitude. People just may be reluctant to patronize a designer with such a self-righteous asshole on their side.

I agree.

I did my time as a "skinny." My friends basically molded me into what they thought was pretty. I was 6'10", thin as a rail, with giant boobs. I hated it. I've never been so comfortable in my av as when I made myself shorter and curvier. I think that type of thing should be celebrated. Everyone who is proud of their curves should get together and show them off.

I'm willing to do the leg work, but I need a little guidance (never organized a fashion show before.)

I don't think showcasing black designers was a bad thing at all, and I think they had the best of intentions. I don't want to bash anyone who organizes a fashion show or expo because it takes a lot of effort to do so. However, showcase-wise, I don't think the designers picked the best pieces to send down the runway. The bathing suit and lingerie look good, but the dresses... not so much. And the whole "every model has a 'fro" thing is interesting. Black IS beautiful, and it could have been done just a little better.

As far as "other" fashion shows, I totally wanna be in a chubby chick fashion show. From what I'm told, a whooole lot of SLers are... curvy... IRL and there are lots of designers and avatars who prefer to BE curvy rather than a 6'11" stick figure with spider legs and no hips. Lets get some curvy gals together wearing clothing made by curvy people and strut our stuff. Just... don't play the Jell-O song while I'm walking down the runway, k? LOL

In all seriousness, if anyone wants to do a BBW fashion show, hit me up in-world and we'll put something together. I'm disgustingly organized and an adorable little chunky av!

This is great. I'm happy for RH and Rebel. This is huge. It's nice that LL FINALLY acted quickly in a content theft situation. Now how about disabling all content by Dirty Dikes and the other popular hair rippers? How about getting rid of all those ripped Redgrave and Naughty skins? I mean, come on. They're finally getting off their asses now that they're being sued, but they really need to step it up and start disabling content they should have disabled months, if not years ago.

Didn't this all go down almost 2 weeks ago?

There are several places with subscribers that lack unsubscribe buttons, effectively "trapping" people in the subscriber and forcing them to note card the designer and wait rather than simply TP in and click to leave. I can think of 2 off the top of my head.

I've apparently only been to 4Eva GuTta on a hunt, and what I got was... well... it's now in my Halloween Costume folder though I know it wasn't intended as such.

Content theft is the worst. I can't imagine finding my hard work being resold or given away without permission. My building skills are only basic, but the more incidents of copybotting I see and hear about, the less I want to become a content creator.

Reselling freebies and ripping people off is also despicable. I've walked into stores with decent items, but as soon as I see stuff from Freebie Warehouse or wherever being sold for 99Ls, I walk out and don't return. Also, giving out garbage from Freebie Dungeon as a gift on a hunt is a sure fire guarantee I will never shop in your store.

However, if you have things in your inventory that are no copy/transfer that you want to yard sale for 1L or give away for 0L, I don't see a problem with that, since you're only giving out your copy. You're not ripping it and redistributing it or boxing up widely available freebies and reselling them for ridiculous prices.

Just search YouTube for Lily Allen. There are lots of her songs on there. She's great. She can tell someone to fuck off and be so damned cheery about it (for example, the song "Fuck You" is very upbeat and awesome.)
