My opinion is that January could see him join and Piq head out of the club. After all, Zamo is a tried and tested PL striker and is just the type of player that you would want to add to a newly promoted squad. Unless - a promoted West Ham are likely to have the size of transfer pot necessary to buy top draw additions? The latter is not very likely - so the move is possible in my book. If the transfer fee is £5m - that is affordable for the club and his personal terms are also not likely to be a problem either. So why not?

More interestingly, I think that the question is - would West Ham want Zamora back? Is he an improvment upon Cole, Carew or Piquionne? Will he improve our strike force, has his first touch and finishing improved from his time at Upton Park? Does Sam Allardyce rate him and want to add him to the squad?

I believe that Bobby would take a resurgent West Ham over any of those type of clubs. Zamo loves West Ham - he is claret and blue thro and thro. I think he would jump at the chance to return - especially if the promotion challenge is going well. That love for the club should not be underestimated.

With regard to England - Bobby must know that he is a fringe player and is unlikely to be in the final 23. It is great to play for your country - but the bigger consideration must be to be happy playing your club football. You would usually prefer to stay in the PL - but I am reckoning that Bobby would be prepared to help the Hammers to promotion and then pick up his PL career next season. I also noted his presence at Brighton and - to be honest - I dismissed it as just a player watching his two former clubs. But now I wonder if there might have been more to it than that?

I could see a deal for Zamora happening in January or the following summer. He is clearly not happy at Fulham - whether its tactics, formations or an alleged clash with the manager. If Zamo joins another PL club who is it likely to be? Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Spurs? Of course not - if he was targeted by one of the top clubs - then yes he would go there. But - the truth is that the likes of Swansea, QPR, Norwich, Stoke City or Wigan are far more likely to be in for him.

I wasn't, but I gave in to temptation - plus my insomnia problem will not allow me to turn in! I am sure that you are a lion in debate, but I still would not fancy your chances!

Anyway, enough already! Time to call it a nite and I mean it this time! lol.

A game of two halves HM. Properly right about Carlton, totally wrong about SJC! lol. But lets - indeed - hope you are wrong about Carlton - for all our sakes!

The person that the comment was aimed at was someone who was just plain rude. They did not 'take up a critical stance' - as you put it - they were bloody rude to someone that has earnt a great deal of respect on this site. If it had been a reasonable, reasoned and logical criticism - I would not have responded in that way. Disrespect gets disrespect in my book!

I am glad that you do not hold grudges. It is a pity that SJC no longer post on the threads - I am sure that you would have an interesting dialogue - but to say that I would not fancy your chances much is a bit of an understatement! lol.

No seriously, I intend to draw a line under this now. Best wishes HM, no doubt you have school tomorrow. Have a good day fellow!

Tut, tut, you would not pass the precis exercise in the old GCE English language paper with the effort HM! lol.

Are you HM of a secondary or primary school? No sarcasm or agenda in asking that - I am just curious.

If you respond HM - I do not intend to reply because we will just end up going round and round in circles. Lets agree to disagree and hopefully engage more productively on other West Ham related issues. I think that is the adult thing to do.

ps. I recently read your blog post on Carlton Cole on another Hammers website (I canot remember the name for the site just now). I found it interesting and illuminating to read on many levels. Well done HM!

First of all - thanks for pointing out the typo HM. A bit like the 'you mat' typo in your comment. So perhaps we would both do well to proof read more closely before commenting in future. I totally agree that we will never see eye to eye on this subject - so I concur - lets not go over it all yet again.

I would like to make the point though that my earlier comments were not aimed at you. I do not believe that you had commented when I posted it. In truth - I have no problem with you HM - in fact you seem a decent chap. I think that I have said this to you before.

However - I get frustrated with your constant harping on about the length of SJ's blog posts because I want to engage with others on the excellent contents - not focus on what I feel to be a distraction. It just seems to me that you harbour a grudge against SJC and Iain - as much as you dress it up as freedom of criticism. If you do then please take it up with them directly and refrain from dragging the rest of us in to it. That is all I respectfully ask as one WHTID contributor to another.
