Main reason I'm so disappointed to be out of the Carling cup so early is that it's a great opportunity for the youngsters and fringe players to get first team action. Not expecting a point from the City game to be honest, they'll be fired up after their loss in the derby and although we performed well against Pool can't see us matching up very well against City. Interesting reading some of the doom and gloom on here, I know the results and form are disappointing so far this season but there has been quite a few positives and we actually played fairly well against Pool (defending from set pieces and crosses aside) it's only early days people so keep the faith. Cole has copped alot of criticism for his effort against Wigan, he was a bit lazy in the second half, however he could do with some better service. I think he's the sort of player who would score a lot of goals from decent balls coming in and around the box from wide positions.
