I can understand why Hasbro is doing what they are doing. They are protecting there intellectual property and Jan Animation is using character designs that have shown up on the TV show. If he had only used OC designs they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. In a way he could continue the series if he didn't use Button Mash or other characters that showed up on the show he could get away with it. Button's Mom is his own design so she should be good to go.
