West Ham Till I Die : Results: Player Performances v Ipswich

This is a problem with our culture, and it's only a recent thing too. I'm only young and until I was 16 I'd be playing football every night with my mates, I look at my little brother and all him and his friends do is communicate through an Xbox playing Fifa 12. Lazy generation! They're never out, it's crazy.

West Ham Till I Die : Should we add a Goal Keeper to the January Transfer Wish List?

Spurs are run by a guy called Joe Lewis... Owns a yatch that's often parked near Tower Bridge. I heard he likes to stay behind the scenes and let Levy run the show

West Ham Till I Die : Maybe Drawing at Home with Bristol City Was Not Such a Bad Result?

I agree with you re having to be able to succeed in cups but Redknapp has won the FA Cup and League Cup in the last few years and got to a Champions League semi final... And if we were to merit it purely on cup success - Avram Grant anyone?

There was also one a few years back involving James, Kanoute and then Defoe. Maybe against Newcastle?!

That was the third game I've seen us play live all season and all three of them we've lost and conceded the losing goal in the last few minutes. Maybe it's my fault! But seriously, there was no real desire to win the game. There was no shape, 3 centre midfielders with Bentley out wide left and Baldock sort of wide right. No width on the right whatsoever. Faubert should've come on waaaayyyy earlier. It felt like everyone had been given a job, and as long as the players did their bit well, it would be okay. Well that's simply not enough. There was no one taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Very frusrating to watch and I hope Big Sam adapts. However, I do not agree with everyone who thinks our transfer activity has been poor now, because we haven't been getting the right results. Just 3 weeks ago everyone was saying it's the best business we've done in years! Nolan shouldn't be underestimated, he gives us something we haven't had for a long time (see 'Man Crush' over on KUMB) . As painful as it was to watch last night, Sam Allardyce is not a silly man and he will get us up. COYI

West Ham Till I Die : Green Fit for the Portsmouth Match?

Interesting thoughts. I can see Collison not featuring due to being in line to play for Wales tonight, and Lansbury only making the bench. I agree with you re the goalkeeping slot being given to an outfield player for any other game but the Portsmouth one. I can also see him playing 4-5-1 this weekend with Baldock on the bench. So... Green O'Brien Tomkins Reid Ilunga (Mcartney if fit enough) Faubert Diop Nolan Noble Taylor Cole Subs: Boffin, Demel, Lansbury, Bentley, Baldock

West Ham Till I Die : Are the Board Split on the Managerial Appointment?

I really don't know what to think about this. A part of me thinks he is the wrong appointment because the clubs he's been are not what West Ham are about. Only Newcastle are and he didn't go down well there. I'd prefer someone like Gus Poyet who's doing wonders at Brighton whilst playing good football. The other part of me thinks he is the right man for the job because he will bring some much needed discipline to the set up and hopefully solidify us as a Top Ten PL Club. But I've come to the conclusion that in our current circumstances, he is the right man for the job. We need stability, especially with OS round the corner. Hopefully by then we'll be a top ten club, attractive for rich middle eastern investors or Tony Fernandes as a 100% buyer.

West Ham Till I Die : Keen and Carr Throw their Hats into the Ring

You're swaying me... Maybe Carr is the best choice, I don't know enough about the man's personality but he will certainly have respect. Anyone we take on is risk though, apart from the O'Neill's who aren't going to come. Perhaps Carr IS the best man to take over

Tony Carr would be a big risk, because we wouldn't to lose him. But, compared to all the rubbish managers with been linked with, and the fact we are having to pay stupid amouts of money for the likes of O'Neill to even consider us, I think Carr or Lee Clark are the men to take us forward. Maybe even put Carr in a Director of Football role, with a young, british manager (Clark) alongside him. It might be just what we need. A modest management team to get us back to the Prem and beyond...

Although there are many in there that I would like, looking at their position and our postion as important factors, Stuart Pearce is the stand out realistic candidate for me. He's had years with the U21's, the England job is obviously what he wants, but that won't come until he's had success in the PL. With West Ham, he can take over after their European tournemount, he knows some of them through the U21's, he's good with young players and he'll have a year to get to really know them. He's a long term appointment that could be here for five years, taking over the England job from 'Arry and then hopefully we'll be all secure in the PL, Di Canio will have had successful experience and we can have him!
