Me and My Ghoul : Gearing your Unholy DK for Naxx: Part 5

Love reading your posts Grim. Ever since I dinkged 80 and dual spec'd Blood/Unholy I snatch up every bit of info I can find on DK's. Now I just need to find more non fail PuG's to gear up which, currently, on Velen server is very rare.

I agree. My tank is the same way. I merely mentioned this because I was able to throw on this enchant and not only boost my effective health but with my current gear it allowed me to free up some of my other slots for pure stam gems. Unfortunately resil only affects our crit immune stats whereas defense increases our dodge and parry (and block for other tank classes) so using this enchant over the SoH enchant will get you to the defense cap quicker.

To be honest with you I don't know the conversion formula but I found this info from a warrior tanking website. It has a lot of good info, even if it is geared towards warriors. Here is the link to the article and there is also a calculator for all the stats, including Resilience. http://www.tankingtips.com/2009/06/23/is-resilien... I think the formula they gave before was: 81.97 = 1% crit reduction

Sons of Hodir = 20 Dodge + 15 Def and the PvP enchant = 30 Stam + 22 Def (from the resilience). I'm definitely not a math wiz either but if you lose out on the dodge but get Stam and +7 more Def than the Sons of Hodir enchant. Wouldn't it be better for those trying to get to get to the defense cap? Granted, it still depends on whether your preference is for evasion or effective health or to complement a set of each.

The PvP shoulder enchant with 30 Stam and 15 Resilience (equates to about 22 Defense) and makes it the best tank shoulder enchant currently for effective health since Sons of Hodir doesn't give any stam.
