A better man, a better storyteller could make a better movie. A smarter man would have put it in the hands of a gifted Black woman. Mr. Perry appears to be neither, imo. I believe because he didn't totally butcher it, people are relieved to the point of positivity. Ultimately the faults are being delineated but with the caveat that they expected worse. Im not sure if that is a win or a loss in the grand scheme.
