Congrats Poe. It's a lot of work to run a website like this. You've managed to do it better than most. Five years is a long time, man. Kudos.

$30-$50 a month? Not bad. MOTUC drains more than that a month.

Too bad on CGM's quick sellout. I probably would have snagged one of him. He's grown on me. Instead I get two figures I don't want in my sub. MATTY!

I appreciate you posting this Poe. Bill was a great guy who did a lot of great work for my site and was always a great friend. I also know he was a fan of your stuff here and his presence will be missed on a variety of places within the community. It's really sad when we lose one of the good guys.

Poe Ghostal's Points of Articulation : S.H.MonsterArts is Determined to Put Me Into Bankruptcy

Oh I fully expect Biollante will be made. Biollante has gained popularity in recent years and part of the reason there's so few Biollante products had more to do with it being a poor vinyl design than anything. MonsterArts is pretty much built exactly for this sort of thing. And while many UltraActs have been shown and not made, there are thousands of Ultraman characters. There just isn't that many Godzilla characters, so it's much easier for them to tease an Ultra character and not deliver than it is for Godzilla. Plus they're making Junior... Which is hardly a popular design choice. If they'll make that, they'll make anything, lol.

MonsterArts, you are my nemesis! Incredible figures, clunky articulation, very close to what I want, but still not quite what I want. A price tag I just can't afford in good conscious. Biollante may very well tip the scale back to their side though. May just be time to quit everything else. On the flip side, my Trendmasters Biollante is still flippin' awesome.

I assume if we only meet the "goal" the Castle will get gimped. "You guys didn't buy enough pre-orders for this product sight unseen. Now it's only going to be the door, but it's still going to cost as much." LOL Seriously though, I dunno about ordering this thing. I'm not worried one way or other other. It's cool that they're making it, but I'm already past the point of caring about anything MOTUC.

Infinite Hollywood : Universal Monsters: Metaluna Mutant Figure Review

Those were actually from Aztech Toys, which more or less did some of the same stuff Mezco does now. I don't have either at the moment and not sure I could secure them before Halloween, to be honest. I almost picked them up earlier this year to review during the Halloween month, but ended up not grabbing them. Everything I've seen on the figures looks great with a nice assortment of accessories. However I know both guys are very preposed and so you don't have much in the way of being able to "play" with them. Which might be what holds some people back. Likewise, as I recall, these didn't get great distribution before Aztech went bust and thus a lot of these ended up on the market for dirt cheap. $8 may still be a markup for him if he got them very cheap. He probably also has them cheap, because they weren't ever particularly popular and most people don't know Nosferatu or Edison's Frankenstein. If you don't want them, lol, I would certainly buy them from you for that price! I only ever see them online, where they want about $20 per figure with shipping.

Poe Ghostal's Points of Articulation : Toys R Us Pricing Officially Out Of Hand

My TRU is a bit expensive on some stuff and decent priced on others. It's not as bad as Skyhopp's or anything, but sometimes I am in awe of their pricing. Ultimately, I have to take what I can get as we only have one TRU anywhere nearby.

Poe Ghostal's Points of Articulation : Poe's Point > A Few Thoughts on the New Ninja Turtles Cartoon

Gotta say I disagree with you Poe, on almost every level, except the Kraang's speech. They have played it up too much. That said, it's still very much up in the air. We're 4 episodes in (honestly it's more like 3 with the first one being a two parter) and I was a bit torn after the second (technically third) episode. It seemed like we were going to go to a monster of the week format very quickly. But episode 4 really changed my opinion. Things started to show focus and there was a clear overall story arc, which I wasn't sure was coming. And I love the new theme, but I've loved it for a while. I think it's catchy, as all Turtles themes have been, but this one isn't as grating after a while as the 2K3 theme eventually got. When Leo bobs his head with the tune, I want to put on my bandanna over my eyes and do a jump kick. The theme gets me excited. And while I did recently pick apart a variety of inconsistencies with this show that I did find annoying, it was all very minor stuff that I certainly wouldn't have cared about as a kid and am willing to overlook as an adult so long as the other aspects are played up well. I think Episode 4 was the strongest episode yet and while there were a handful of "kid" elements, I think adults could easily watch it and not feel like they were watching a kid's show. There's a ton of the Teen Titans dynamic at work here (no surprise most of the crew worked on that) but it's different enough and more organic to me. I dunno, I'm diggin' it, but I'm aware that it could fall apart if it gets too much into monster of the week territory.
