If this alligator ran off and the trooper did nothing, and it was never found, you're bound to see a 7 foot alligator instead pretty quickly with a plentiful food supply. Although I would have liked to see the alligator captured and released in a wildlife reserve in Florida somewhere, it would appear capturing it wasn't an option at the time.
