Oh no! He was still really young. Goodbye Andrew.

The scorn was there long before any comments he made on Red Tails. In your own words you are angry that the prequels didn't meet up to your expectations and that he modified his own works. As an illustrator I find myself revisiting past work to see if I can improve it, so I have some empathy with Lucas. I'd be aghast at the suggestion that I was a tool for altering my work. Many would shrink under the standards they set for others. What would you tell those who called you names for (in your own opinion) improving your own creation?
The original are available on VHS even Laser Disc on eBay (I have the originals). Convert them to DVD. To be honest, in places, the original doesn’t hold up too well in HD.
Finally, I don’t think George Lucas is a saint. He lied to the press and the public for decades trying to hide that he was making Star Wars up as he went. I find this far worse (being lied to) than anything else he has done regarding Star Wars. That being said, overall he's not tool, etc. He’s the creator of Star Wars and he disagrees with your opinion, and for that he is hated.

John didn't say he liked the flick, he pointed out it made money and people are enjoying it despite the venom John and others spewed on George because he can't keeps his hands off his Star Wars. George Lucas has infuriated fans of Star Wars no doubt, but the man is not a villain, is a really nice guy, and people are just hating his guts. Fans are looking like pop culture elitists and are judging the man's worth simply by his involvement with popular media. What about the man and his character? Does he really deserve to be hated? I was pointing out it was big of John to say something kind about the man even though he's not happy with Lucas messing with his own art, unlike those who obviously judge a man’s worth by some pop culture standard. Are you one of those guys who think someone is lame when you find out they like a show, or a song or whatever that you don’t like?

2. Red Tails: $19.1m – George Lucas should be very happy. If my twitter feed is any indication, people are enjoying this old-fashioned crowd-pleaser.

That's kind of you to mention seeing as you and many others ripped George a new one not too many days ago.

I agree, I was going to say the same thing then I saw you beat me to it. I didn't see the Village because I jokingly guessed the big reveal when talking to my buddy who had seen it. I'll probably give it a look though. I also really enjoyed the Lady in the Water. I can see why others didn't but I certainly didn't think it was a bad film.

Yeah, he's probably done for the season, but I expect him to come back later in the series. The hallucination was to keep him fresh in the audience's minds.

LOL! You asked man. I wasn't commenting on the show's excitement, simply answering the question.

I think it's safe to say that Merle has a whole lot more to do. Morgan was awesome and his scenes were very touching, but aside from catching up with him a bit later I don't think he's going to have much more to do. As for Otis, I don't agree that he was a great character. He was a character with some character ;) but he served a purpose for the narrative to show Shane for whom he really is.

"can someone tell me why she is having Carl do homework"

So he doesn't grow up to be an illiterate moron who can't count or add or any of the other wonders of mathematics that might come in handy in his future. Lori is basically a homeschool mom. ;)

I love Darryl's character and I believe that it is due in large part to the quality of Norman's portayal. I also really enjoy Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Shane. I love Shane as a character because of his performance and I can't wait to see the scumbag taken out (beat from the books I doubt they will change).

I have read the books and enjoy the show. For me it's like the book takes place in Earth-1, and the Show on Earth-21. You get to see what the characters might be like in different circumstances. Would I have loved a near panel for panel adaptation? Sure, but I dig the show too. I'm ready for Rick's spine to stiffen up a bit, but I'm sure that is being set up.
