Daily Camera.com: : A year later, friends and family of Boulder\'s Joe Cahill ask: \'What the hell happened?\' - Boulder

Spoken like an easily-led know nothing. And insensitively to boot. Congratulations. The current President of the United States of America, along with his immediate predecessor (and probably more than just a couple/few previous presidents and VPs) used cocaine. Actually, quite a lot of people have used cocaine without anything bad happening at all. Cocaine is still used legally in some medical procedures in this country. And I guess the more obvious point... why no mention of the alcohol, sir? Not alone, or even as part of the mix? Aren't you aware of how frequently alcohol is involved in wholly negative and tragic events?

Longmont Times-Call : The joke of marijuana activism - Longmont Times-Call

Comparing it to serving out precise 1.5oz shots of vodka is a dumb joke. Compare it with "drinks on me", and you have something different altogether.

Longmont Times-Call : Swedish official calls for circumcision ban - Longmont Times-Call

The argument about HIV transmission is such complete absurdity. Yeah, start telling guys that being circumcised counts as protection against HIV. You have now officially guaranteed steady or increased HIV rates are the only possible outcomes, along with virtually guaranteed higher rates of other STDs, and higher rates of unplanned/unwanted pregnancies and such. But pretty much all of the people that are going to be putting forth this argument don't really care anyway. Because they'll actually only be putting it forth as evidence that their religious practices are a good thing, and that not practicing these things is a bad thing.

Longmont Times-Call : Longmont police seeking Evans man wanted in assault, drug ring - Longmont Times-Call

Now everyone just needs to picture all of the other dealers in the area, with all of their meth and weapons out on their tables just like the police, celebrating right along with them. Because they'll gain a great deal from this. And more importantly, that's really the only real effect this will have as far as this drug goes in relation to this area. Period. The lure of increased profits will serve to quickly lure more people into the trade to fill any temporary gaps and ultimately expand it. Meanwhile, all of the folks involved in the private prison industry will also make money. I guess the police will benefit as well, in that their going after all of this low-hanging fruit very effectively detracts attention from the unsolved burglaries and robberies and rapes and murders in the area.

Longmont Times-Call : 18-year-old woman killed in Friday night shooting, Longmont police say - Longmont Times-Call

You've been conditioned to see any reaction to a senseless injury/death involving a firearm that mentions the firearm, or firearms in any more general sense, as being an anti-gun statement from an anti-gun person. Do you know what a spring gun is? Do you know what a mantrap is? If so (or if you bother to figure it out), you should also note that you're no longer allowed to use those to "defend yourself (or your property)", and the reasons that this is so.

Longmont Times-Call : Police Notes: Boy cuts another boy, referred to community justice - Longmont Times-Call

I just want to clarify something. Can you see how you're only assuming that the kid was referred for attacking (something along the lines of "assaulting") the other kid with the knife, when there's really nothing whatsoever to indicate that this is actually what happened? Because I would agree with you if it said the kid was referred for assault, but it was noted that they didn't actually think he did it intentionally. But that's not what it says at all.

You're borderline... something, but I think it's the confidence you have about it that's really jaw-dropping.. It doesn't even say WHY he was referred at all, it only describes the incident that led to it. You're just blindly jumping to the conclusion that the cut was the reason. Perhaps you should study some law, because you won't find "cutting another kid" anywhere, and I can think of a few other possibilities just off the top of my head. If you're actually so very concerned about the situation, why not take a little time out of your clearly jam-packed with change-effecting schedule to actually figure out if the problem you're b!#$%ing about even actually exists in that place often referred to as "reality"? It's not like it would be difficult. Maybe a little more difficult than jumping to conclusions and b!#$%ing, but nothing one could justifiably refer to as "difficult".

So say if I'm playing with a knife around every corner and you end up walking into my knife, just for example, no problems? Or should I maybe have not been playing with my knife somewhere where injuring someone was a possibility? Just for example, I guess. You could jump to a lot of conclusions when you don't know the entire story, like when you only have a two sentence summary of it. And that one little blurb about intent at the end could have been put there for more than the one reason you prefer to fit it into your preferred big picture. Speaking of your big picture, I'm just curious, are you ever in your life going to actually do anything other than b!#$%ing about it all to actually make any of it happen?

Longmont Times-Call : \'Stand your ground\' law makes it too easy not to walk away - Longmont Times-Call

Honestly now, where did you get ANY of that from? I'm genuinely curious, because I'm not finding a scrap of it in the thread you're replying to. And I don't see any other comments on this article that would fit any better (like if you had accidentally replied to the wrong comment or something). I mean I got the part where there's this "type", but I don't see any connections to anything that you've put forth that makes up this "type" of person either. It just seems like a series of almost superhuman jumps to get from anywhere in this thread to the places you managed to get to. And honest to goodness, I am truly curious...

The jury's decision doesn't necessarily mean they thought he was the aggressor at all, or that Zimmerman was "right". It does not justify or validate your lack of any sort of grounding in reality in your talking and thinking on the matter.

Isn't that the point of stand your ground? That you don't have to run? He COULD have ran home, and he would have led an armed man all the way back to his home, where he and his family members sleep. Do you not see a problem with the last man standing being the only one that can claim self-defense? The jury decided that, based on how the law was written, they had to acquit him based on the available evidence. It doesn't make him right, and it doesn't even mean the jury thought he was right, or that they agree or disagree with you, me, thetruthhurts12, or anyone else. It doesn't mean that particular law isn't a miscarriage of justice waiting to happen (whether or not it was or was not in this particular case). It doesn't make you "right", and it doesn't justify your political views.

What you're referring to is the right to hold the government accountable for not allowing the religious to restrict the rights of homosexuals. In this case that is the right of homosexuals to marry, which you want the government to restrict. And while I myself am not a "secular progressive", I don't really understand how anyone is sticking their noses into religion or foisting their beliefs on the general populace in this. If you have rules against homosexuality in your own personal conduct, or even in your religion, have at it. Nobody cares.
