West Ham Till I Die : Home Form: Are We to Blame?

Yes we are. I choose to go to away games most of the time these days for that very reason. At times it's like WE are at home with the passion and noise we make as fans away from UP and it does not matter whether we are winning, losing, playing well or poor. UP died with the seats, like most grounds. The way we play is not the problem, not nice but i've made my point about this before and we are there or there abouts to get automatic promotion so Sam is earning his money. If we gave the team support at home we would win more, fact. Players feed off confidence and the crowds adulation. They have shown what they are capable of, it's not that surprising most of it is away from home.

West Ham Till I Die : Parish Notice: A New Look for WHTID - Your Views Please

Love the site Iain and look forward to the re-newed site. As some others have said the match day thread would be better with the latest posts at the top. I personally like the 'limited' contribution and think the quality could become somewhat watered down with too many contributors. However, I would be in favour of a few more posts by existing personel, I particually like Robert Bank's posts, so if he could be persuaded to write more I would be in favour. Just my two peneth. Keep up the good work.

West Ham Till I Die : Bobby Moore Must Never Be Forgotten

Bobby Moore, a legend that will never be forgotten. I saw him play a few games for WHU, I was very young so my main memory is of him in the 75 FA cup playing for Fulham against us. My dad and uncles always speak in such reverence and fondness about him and his abilities; they all played against him at school level and followed his career along with other local lads that made it into the WH fold. I was fortunate enough to speak to Harry Redknapp a couple of years ago for some time about all things football and quite candidly about WHU but when we got onto Bobby he weld up and you could really see the and hear in his voice the esteem he holds the great man in. ‘The greatest player ever and a true gent’ were Harry’s words. You have to agree.

West Ham Till I Die : You Know You've Done A Good Interview When...

Excellent work Iain and thanks again for the work you put in. DS came across very well and has done himself the world of good with such an honest and open set of answers. I have never had a problem with the Dave's taking control of WHU as I believed as fans they would try to do their best. However I did and still do have big reservations about the OS move but it would appear DS is now looking at that with a clear view. All in all well done on a job well done.

West Ham Till I Die : In Conversation With David Sullivan (Part 6): "We Were the Most Insolvent Club in the Country"

Thoroughly enjoying this Iain. I've got to say DS is coming across very well. The 'foot in the mouth' comments are hopefully something of the past now. He seems to have a very realistic grasp of the situation now, in the past I worried that rash decisions were going to be made to counter the mess they uncovered but the comments from DS in this article give me alot of confidence for a stable future for our club. Once again, thanks for the work you have put into this.

West Ham Till I Die : Ten Things to Emerge From the Millwall Game

Well put mate. I for one felt the whole team (bar Nolan) put in a shift today and got the result thet deserved. It was good to see them be so positive after the Ipswich game and by keeping the ball down and upping the work rate we totally outplayed Millwall. Noble was top draw, I hope he uses it as a real spring board and pushes his game to a new level.

West Ham Till I Die : A Tribute to Gary Speed

Sad news. I found myself shocked by the news as it was announced on the radio. I always admired Speed as a player and he always seemed to be the perfect Professional on and off the pitch. My thoughts go out to his family at this sad time. On a football front, the greatest honour I can give any player is that having seen them play I hoped that one day they would sign for us, Gary Speed was one of those players. So young, a real shame. RIP Gary.

West Ham Till I Die : The Tony Fernandes Bid and Could El Hadji Diouf be the First Acquisition?

From the appalling timing of the Fernandes offer and the twitter comment it would appear that if he took over we would lose one set of self seeking publicity jokers for another. Why does our club attract such destructive elemants? If he had the best interests of WHU at heart he would have made the offer before the appointment of a manager or maybe even a while after but definatly not on the day and as for the twitter comment, a very classy way of going about serious business! Can't see the Diouf link being any more than a rag top stab at a headline. The more I think about the appointment of SA the more I see this as a real opportunity for this club to finally throw of it's semi professional shackles and move forwards. Good luck to SA and here's to a more professional approach to winning games and hopefully building a team that will eventually be capable of doing it with West Ham style and flair.

West Ham Till I Die : So Big Fat Sam It Is - But Not in My Name

There is no way in this world that SA will allow players to put in half an effort, let alone no effort, every one of them will have to give 100%. Not only that but the new manager needs to be a strong character that can put up with and mix it with the Dave’s and Brady, someone strong enough to tell them to shut up and get on with their side of getting this club back on its feet. Of all the names banded about I believe only SA is a strong enough character. I, like all WH fans want to see us play great football but I want to see us doing it in the top half of the prem. I also believe that SA wants to see this as well and I also believe he can build a side that can play attractive football. SA is a realist and he produces sides that are difficult to beat with limited funds, but who of us knows whether given the right conditions and funds he can’t build a side that is attractive to watch. I think most top flight managers are capable of doing this but the ones that are at (smaller) clubs have to cut their cloth accordingly if they wish to have any type of success and stay in a job. This club needs changing and it needs a new winning belief. I for one am hoping SA can start the rebuild.

I have mixed feelings about SA taking the reins but I have been thinking a lot about the state our club is in and I am now starting to believe this is a positive move forward. Our club is rock bottom and has been for a long, long time. In fact it is worse than that; it is rotten from top to bottom. We want to see WHU play the beautiful game but you can only do this with good players and a manager that really understands how to do that and get results. This is not achievable in the lower end of the prem. To attract these personnel you have to be a strong winning outfit. The team need to be single minded about winning never accepting defeat, never believing it is good enough to be merely competing. We have always been a soft touch. Who of us has ever felt that at 1-0 WH were good for the win. This has to change and I think that under SA it will. What’s coming may not be pretty but the whole ethos of the club needs changing. It needs to believe and get a winning mentality.

West Ham Till I Die : Should Tony Carr Be Our Next Manager?

Good post mate and I completely agree. Tony Carr is the best in the country at what he does. We cannot lose that. Also Tony may not want the post, has he applied for it on previous occasions? I've not heard any rumours of him doing so. Also frontline managment may not be his thing. The pressures it brings is not for everybody and who's to say he can cope with it. After so many years if he fancied a crack at managment I think he would have gone and had a go somewhere by now. As you say we have to change the mentality at the club. We need a manager who is driven and hungry for success who will make the players hungry for success, there should be elevan Parkers out on the pitch every game showing a will to win at all costs. Tony Carr is the best at what he does and is one of the few successes and constants at our club and it's best we keep it that way.

Didn't need a crystal ball for that! So glad I have got tickets for next week. Worth every penny to see Grant get the bullet, he won't have the 'dignity' (which everybody says he has) to resign. Bloody West Ham. Still, new brush sweeps clean and all that. Not the first time and unfortunatly I fear it's not the last time. Here's to wasted money on a ticket for next week and a GREAT next season. COYI (that's for the fans, not the useless set up that thinks it's the club).
