The University of Iowa is committed to the success of our Men's Basketball program. We expect success on and off the court, as well as maintaining a sense of dignity and pride in our program, both internally and for our very loyal fan base. As I have watched the efforts of our players and coaches, I can honestly say that no one in the state of Iowa is more dedicated to once again establishing this program as one of the Big Ten's best as they are. When we made a change in our program three years ago, I believed in Coach Lickliter and I still do today. The future of our basketball program is bright. We graduate one senior this year and one senior in 2011. Over 90% of our scoring and rebounding return next year. Our admiration for this past years team extends further than the numbers. I am proud of the tremendous resilience our student athletes and the coaching staff have shown throughout this year. Their dedication and focus through adversity is to be commended. I look forward to seeing these young men continue to grow in the upcoming years. You bring in a new boss to your company who has a significantly different management style, odds are some people just will not mesh with them and you'll have defections (well, in a good job market). I'm not enjoying watching this year any more than anyone else, but I'm looking forward to next year to finally see how a returning group knowing the system, and by all accounts a talented recruiting class, produces throughout the year.
