The problem with the election process is that people don't necessarily listen to what is said but they chose who they vote for based on what and who they see on TV and in the news. It's not like the government is going to suddenly change based on its new leader. It's ironic that the leader of the country doesn't actually lead much at all. There is an agenda to fulfill and that is that. Obama is there to make the speeches carefully drafted by teams of people behind him; the decisions made by teams of people etc. He's a face to attract your vote. If anyone actually believed that there will be such a dramatic change, then I've got some prime ocean-front land to sell you out here in North Dakota. EDIT: I'm actually from Canada, but if I said I was in Ontario I'd really confuse half the Americans here and the ocean-front joke would fail.
