Hi Sarah, I hadn't seen your comment before today. Some of my reservations are due to his age, and some are merely due to knowledge of young ladies growing up in poverty. With lack of resources, often times decisions are made more for them, or hastily, as it appears to be the best option at the time.

I pray he is a Godly man who leads her well and encourages her to reach her God given potential. I know basically nothing about him, other than the minimal info on his facebook, however accurate that may be.

My intention is not to judge, but that she/they be covered in prayers. I know she has a heart for God, and young adulthood is a rough time in life.

I have really fallen in love with my Bolivian boy! He's so full of information and details, and LOVE! My youngest nephew has a correspondence not from Bolivia that we are still waiting to hear from, but I'm excited to get to know him too!

When I think of Peru, that first photo under real is what comes to mind. I know I vividly remember seeing the homes line the hillside, often times one right on top of the other. Most of those families moving from rural areas to the city in hopes of jobs and a better life. Looking at those homes seems hard to imagine that as a better life.

Yet amidst all our stuff, I believe we lose much. And in their simplicity of living, they are so rich, not by worldly standards, but in the spiritual realm. While lacking stuff, and even every day needs, they become more dependent on God.

I love how through Compassion and our letters, we can build relationships with these precious children and their families. They have so much to teach us, and we have so much to learn!
