No one has even mentioned San Diego as a possibility. The buiding looks more like Stucco than brownstone or brick. Stucco is used to a great extent in California. San Diego has a very large "Little Italy" community with many condo developements in the area. Many of these are close to the Marina........ Just an idea of a very desirable location in the WEST.....

No one has mentioned Hawaii for this clue... Maui is a "long island"..... Cruise ships go to Hawaii all the time... Pirates of the Caribbean was recently filmed there.... There are lighthouses on the various Islands...
The horse racing did get me though since gambling is illeagal in Hawaii... But with some research I found that horse racing was popluar with the Hawaiian Royalty in the late 1800's and early 1900's.... http://www.hawaiiforvisitors.com/activities/horse...
