I have to say, as an extreme arachnophobe, I basically experienced this episode as a radio play, with the occasional peek from the corner of my eye.

....still pretty good, though. I always appreciate fiction that respects the cube-square law.

I can't place the origin, but there is a joke/trope that exists about an asylum full of Napoleons thay I think might be the true source of Prachett's joke. It -might- have been a Bugs Bunny gag...?
